One of the biggest dangers of mixing New Age beliefs with Christianity is that it can severely hinder your business. After all, if you’re constantly sharing about love and abundance but using manipulative techniques to get what you want from customers or clients, they’re not likely to respond well to your message.
5 Ways New Age Beliefs Can Hinder Your Christian-based Business
1. Causing Confusion
One of the biggest issues is that many New Age beliefs are simply not compatible with Christianity. For example, some New Agers believe in being able to manifest whatever your heart desires, while Christians do not. This, alone, can create a lot of confusion and division within your Christian-based business.
If you’re confused about your belief system, then it’s vital that you take the time to know exactly what you believe and how that aligns with God (and owning a Christian-based business). Causing confusion for yourself and those you do business with can only cause more issues for both parties.
2. Creating a Distrustful Environment
When you mix Christianity with New Age beliefs, it can also create a distrustful environment. If people don’t know what you believe or are unsure of who you trust, they’re likely to be very hesitant to do business with you. This can lead to a lot of lost opportunities and revenue.
There is nothing more confusing than when you are trying to do business with another Christian-based business and everyone is confused. When everyone is on the same page spiritually, BIG things can happen. However, ALL of this is only possible if YOU are co-partnered with God in the right way. Don’t create a distrustful environment with others by confusing them with what you believe.
3. Incompatible Belief Systems
As mentioned above, one of the biggest dangers of mixing New Age beliefs with Christianity is that they are often incompatible. This can lead to taking people away from Christ versus drawing them closer. For example, some Christians may believe that Jesus is the only way to salvation, while some New Agers may believe in monism.
This can create a lot of tension and make it difficult to effectively communicate with one another. It’s important that if you’re running a Christian-based business you understand that God has ALL the answers for you, it’s just a matter of accessing your divine strategy.
4. Lack of Focus
Another issue that can arise from mixing New Age beliefs with Christianity is a lack of focus. When you have too many different belief systems competing for attention, it can be difficult to stay focused on how you truly want to run your business. Learning to focus on what God has for you and co-partner with Him will get you the results that are profitable and purposeful.
5. Encouraging Physical Materialism
New Age beliefs can also encourage physical materialism. This is when people focus more on acquiring physical things rather than using their gifts, talents, and abilities to genuinely help others. This often leads to greed, envy, and other negative emotions, which are not conducive to a successful business.
Final Thoughts
As you can see, there are a number of ways that New Age beliefs can hinder your Christian-based business. If you’re looking to be successful, it’s best to avoid mixing these two philosophies. Instead, stay focused on biblical principles and run your business in a way that honors God.

There are several ways women of faith can avoid New Age beliefs in business. In our ever-progressing world where religions seem to be merging in some areas, it is extremely important that Christian businesswomen stand firm in their convictions. I’m sure you’ve seen the rise in New Age beliefs and practices and some of them even seem harmless. The problem is that mixing and mingling different beliefs does not glorify the Father. Keep reading for ways to navigate around adopting New Age beliefs in your Christian-based business.
4 Ways Women of Faith Should Avoid New Age Beliefs in Business
1. Make sure you are aligned with God in your business.
Being out of alignment is one sure way to open the gates to being in alignment with things not of God. When you are in alignment, you can confidently stand in the truth of who (and Who’s) you are. There is also a level of confidence in knowing that God will never leave you or forsake you, as well as guide your every step in business.
2. Avoid New Age beliefs in business by having a heart for God.
This is when I typically start speaking of having a kingdom mindset. Having a kingdom mindset helps you stay clear of anything that contradicts the word of God. You can have a heart for God and a concept for business by finding peace and fulfillment in the things of God. You’ll also need to trust Him in all things, making Him the head of all you do. Last but not least, serve Him in full capacity through every aspect of your business.
3. Keep your desires in check.
It’s natural for us to desire things. In fact, it’s built into our human design. And God wants to give us the desires of our hearts so long as they line up with His Word and principles. From a New Age perspective, you can desire whatever you want and do what it takes to get it. However, this would be within your own power and not through the power of God. Keep your desires in check to prevent blocking your blessings.
4. Always seek to bring glory to God in your business.
When you are focused on glorifying the Father, you’ll be about His business within your own business. You won’t have the time nor give leeway to other truths, values, and/or principles that are not found in Scripture (or twisted). Always submit your plans to Him. Look for ways to be the light in your field. And, remain grateful every step of the way in your business.
Final Thoughts
There’s no doubt that women of faith should avoid New Age beliefs in business. If you find yourself changing your terminology that aligns with a New Age mindset, take the thoughts captive and replace them with God’s truth. Although it may seem appealing and full of “light and love,” there is no greater light and love than that of the Father.
connect with your deepest soul desire in a godly way
When you connect with your deepest soul desire you will get to serve the multitude with your God-given gifts (aka more clients). You also experience provision and overflow for your life, family, and ministry (aka more cash).
The issue is the world has tricked you into thinking that YOU have the burden and stress of manifesting the desires of your heart into your life, family, & business. The truth is if God gave you the desire, won’t He manifest the provision alongside your obedience and faithfulness to fulfill the desire he gave you all along?

In this New Age beliefs in business series, we’re going to look at a variety of ideals and perspectives. This post will highlight New Age beliefs that sneak into the business world. The following posts will dive into how they get into the business world in the first place, how to avoid them, and how to prevent them from hindering your business. Be sure to save this post and stay tuned to my podcast to hear more in-depth discussions about this topic.
What are New Age beliefs?
Before diving into specific beliefs, we first need to identify what the New Age movement is in the first place. First and foremost, New Age is not a religion. Instead, it should be seen as a belief system. This is why you won’t see specified New Age “churches” more than groups of people who simply share the same outlook and philosophies of this belief system.
In short, New Agers do not see the Messiah as the Savior. If anything, they see Him as a teacher of some kind. In addition to this, they also see everything as ‘spiritual,’ including the physical earth. The biggest belief comes in the form of monism – the belief that everything is one.
With this in mind, let’s look at several New Age beliefs that make their way into the Christian business world.
3 New Age Beliefs that Sneak Into the Christian Business World
Establishing your business in your own power (without including God).
One of the biggest mishaps Christians can make is launching their business in their own power. For the New Age believer, they have the power to create and do what they want because they are one with their creation. However, for Christian believers who understand where true power and authority come from, it becomes dangerous territory to step into creating anything without praying & seeking God first. This is not an attempt to merely include God in every aspect of their business – but to seek him in relationship and listen to Holy Spirit about what you are called to co-partner with God on.
In order to dodge establishing your business in your own power, make sure you are co-partnering with God versus trying to be the one in complete control. Dedicate your business to Him and make every effort to be obedient and trust Him in everything you do.
Adopting the law of attraction mindset to grow your business.
I have seen Scripture taken completely out of context to support the law of attraction ideology. However, the truth of the matter is that the law of attraction concept is not a biblical principle. Even more so, it is not supported by God in any way. Adopting the New Age mindset that you have the power to attract certain people out of your own strength or for various reasons removes the work of the Holy Spirit to help you discern if people are right for you and your business.
Instead of focusing on attracting people through positive thoughts and the magnetic power of the Universe, be in prayer about who God wants in your life. Also, be in prayer for discernment about all business connections and ties. Trust and rest assured that God is already putting the perfect people in your path.l because you are working alongside him to bring about the will He has for your life! This process has little to do with “your own power”.
Using Scripture in manifesting and incantational ways.
There is a huge difference between using Scripture for affirmations versus in a manifesting and incantational way. Similar to the law of attraction outlook, New Agers typically believe they can manifest anything their heart desires. The truth if the matter is that we are co-partnered with God to manifest His will and desire on earth. This is usually based on their belief that they, too, can be all-seeing and all-knowing. Therefore, they have the power to bring anything to pass that they think of.
Stay clear of falling into this trap by using Scripture in its proper context. This means remembering Who the Word of God is speaking of and from where the power of its Words flows. If you choose to use Scriptures for affirmation, be in prayer and meditation about their true meaning and what it means for your life and business.
Final Thoughts
There is no doubt that New Age deceptions sneak into the Christian business world. As a woman of faith in business, I personally understand and have navigated some of these traps set by the enemy to convince us that we can create what we want when we want, especially if done in the Name of Jesus. However, these beliefs are slithers of lies and strongholds embedded into our worldview. They must be shaken up by acknowledging God’s authority! It’s always best to do biblical things in biblical ways even when it comes to business.
expose the new age beliefs in your business and connect with your deepest soul-desire in a godly way
The world has tricked you into thinking that YOU have the burden and stress of manifesting the desires of your heart into your life, family, & business. In addition, New Age beliefs will lead you to believe that you have all the control through the law of attraction and chanting incantations.
I challenge you to flip that on its head! If God gave you the desire, He will manifest the provision alongside your obedience and faithfulness to fulfill the desire he gave you all along. When seeking to bring glory to God in your business, there are several key things you can do. As a woman of faith in business, I’ve seen and personally navigated the struggles that come with stepping out on faith. The business world isn’t always so pretty and it can easily attempt to snare you in ways that aren’t pleasing to God or good for your business. In this post, we’re going to look at practical ways you can honor God with your business.
Top 3 Things You Can Do to Bring Glory to God in Your Business
Always submit your plans and ideas to Him.
It can be super easy to get a great idea and instantly want to run with it. However, getting into the habit of doing so could also create a ripple effect in your business that may do more harm than good. It’s better to get into the habit of always praying and submitting your ideas and plans to God first. Then, be in a position to hear what He has to say about it.
I believe we are all given a Spirit-meter (thank you Holy Spirit) that will direct us in the ways that we should go. The answers we receive may not always be what we want, but when done in proper order and timing, it always yields the best results. I suggest grabbing an “ideas and plans” braindump journal to have a place for writing down everything that ever comes to mind. This will can then serve as your prayer journal to help you keep track of what your plans/ideas were, prayers, and God’s responses.
Be the light in your industry.
You may have already witnessed how easy it is to be blind-sided by what seems to be popular and trending. And in most cases, it’s not always the things of God. However, you should never dim your light, your mission, or your faith because it may not seem popular. Instead, continue to show up in the light and through the countenance of God.
Ask Him to give you the words to say and pray for the right people to see and be inspired by it. He would never ask you to dim yourself to stay popular or be liked by others. In fact, I’m willing to bet He would bless you for doing the exact opposite.
Adopt a gratitude mindset.
There will be times when nothing seems to be going right. Perhaps it’s a flopped course launch or incredibly low sales. This is where having a mindset of gratefulness can help you stay focused on the good things and blessings of having your business. Seeing things from a grateful perspective also helps you to see things differently.
Instead of seeing a failed business, you will begin to see ways to change things for the better. When you want to give up, a grateful attitude will see how to put one foot in front of the other.
Final Thoughts about how to bring glory to god in your business
Adopting these practical, yet powerful, things to bring glory to God in your business is a sure way to honor Him in what you do. If you’re not already doing these things, start with one at a time until it becomes a habit, then add another. Before you know it, you’ll have a completely new outlook and mindset that brings glory to God!

If you are standing in God’s way of His plans for your life, chances are you may be blocking your blessings. How do you know if you are standing in His way? What are the signs that you are blocking blessings or acting on the wrong desires? Let’s chat about that!
Are you in God’s way?
One of the telltale signs that you are in God’s way is if you are operating your business based on the comparison. This typically looks like adopting your systems and practices according to what you see someone else doing. In most cases, this stems from some sort of self-doubt or self-sabotage. It’s equivalent to telling yourself that your own creativity and gifts aren’t good enough.
Another indicator involves not having true clarity around what you should be doing. I believe God will always make His desires known for our lives. It’s simply a matter of coming into alignment with them and having the boldness to walk them out.
Last but not least, sometimes being in God’s way looks like justifying your own desires. To know the difference between if a desire is yours or God’s, you can start with prayer. Assuming you already have a relationship with Him, praying about His will for your life and revelation for what you should be doing will always be confirmed. Then, go to the Word. If your desires line up with His Word, you’re on the right track.
Being in God’s way does not only hinder your personal relationship with Him but also your growth in all areas. This doesn’t mean just in the area of business, but also in relationships. Standing in His way also comes with the consequences of blocked blessings. Here’s how.
3 Ways You May Be Blocking Your Blessings
1. Pride
Pride can go either way. Perhaps you’ve been knocked down and you allow pride to keep you down longer than you need to be. On the other end, pride can come in the form of knowing what’s best for you, therefore you may lack consulting God as much as you should. Either way, pride is something that God hates and we should always seek to have balance in that area.
2. Self-Doubt and Self-Sabotage
I touched on this one a bit earlier. Simply put, anytime you think you are not good enough, it can cause you to operate in a way that’s not true to yourself. It will cause you to make decisions based on other people’s success versus what God wants to do specifically through how He created you. While these can stem from a number of things, one thing’s for sure is they can cause you to lose godly focus.
3. Holding Onto Past Limiting Beliefs
There’s no doubt that we all have some form of limiting beliefs to navigate through. However, the biggest difference between staying stagnant and becoming successful is knowing how to release yourself from them. Holding onto past limiting beliefs means you won’t be able to focus on what God is trying to do in your life now. That ripples into how you are meant to impact others as well.
Final Thoughts about blocking your blessings
I know you don’t want to purposefully stand in God’s way nor do you want to block His blessings in your life. The first step I recommend taking is looking at your life and being honest about the areas that may show resistance towards God’s calling for you. Then, begin to identify any of the blessing-blockers mentioned above (if any). It starts with being conscious about things that need to change, then making the decision to change them. One-step and one thing at a time.

Let’s chat about clues that show you may be out of alignment with your natural giftings. Lately, my daughter’s been experiencing some stress around all the different paths she can take in her life right now. Seeing her navigate this hurdle made me think of this space here – accepting your natural giftings and being in alignment with them. There’s no doubt about the fact that we all face this hurdle at some point in our entrepreneurial journey. In fact, I’d almost say it’s a necessary path to take.
How often do you stress about…
What you should do?
What action you should take next?
Should you leave that soul-sucking job?
Should you launch that particular program?
Or, should you be operating the business you’re running as of now (or be doing something else)?
These questions may seem taxing; however, they are perfectly fine to ask. When you find yourself at the crossroads of answering each one, they actually give you very much-needed clues about your next steps. The biggest hindrance is when you get stuck in the answers. Once you’ve answered them, it’s time to take action.
it all boils down to your natural giftings
I often walk my clients through an exercise that invites them to take a look back at their childhood. While visiting memories, we hone in on experiences that endorse their natural giftings. These are what typically come to life in their chosen line of work.
If you just happen to do this exercise, pay attention to the little things that lit you on fire when you were just a kid. Think about the qualities you had that felt natural to operate in. Then, you’ll most likely arrive at the conclusion of what you should be doing.
Sometimes we let the fear of pursuing something new or the fear of missing out get in the way of living a life fulfilled. Are you worrying more about how you’re going to take care of yourself versus how much you can trust God to catch you when you take a leap into what feels natural and what feels good?
When I say what feels natural and what feels good, I’m referring to how you serve in this lifetime within the capacity of your everyday being, everyday energy, and everyday operations. If the thought of this space has you stumped or feeling out of alignment, let’s highlight some cues to confirm that notion.
5 Clues You’re Out of Alignment with Your Natural Giftings
These clues aren’t meant to be off-putting. The truth of the matter is we have to come to terms with any and everything that is attempting to hinder our God-given giftings and abilities. These are the very essence of what makes businesses work, and any portion of it being out of alignment can jeopardize your true potential.
As you read through these clues and questions, answer them truthfully. Take time to meditate on your responses and even write them down:
- You feel drained and you dread showing up in your current career.
- You’re trying to pursue something to prove you’re good enough.
- Other people’s voices are louder than the still, small voice of God.
- You’ve allowed industry trends to derail you from your own ideas and creativity.
- When someone asks you what you do, you cringe at trying to respond.
Do any of these sound familiar? Were your responses “yes” more than “no?” If so, here are some action steps to start taking now:
- Be okay with where you currently are in life and business, but decide today that you’re not going to stay there.
- Revisit your why and the whole purpose for starting your business.
- Take another look at your goals and see if your day-to-day tasks are genuinely getting you there.
- Refresh your why, vision, mission, and goals that align with where you want to be in life in business.
