3 Reasons We Shouldn’t Fear the Money Conversation

3 Reasons We Shouldn’t Fear the Money Conversation

Money conversations can be difficult, but they are important. As a woman in business, money can be a hard conversation to have. In fact, it’s almost a taboo subject! Sixty percent of women say they have never negotiated their salary! From a young age, we’ve all been discouraged to talk about money.  However, it’s time for that conversation to change! Here are 3 reasons we shouldn’t fear the money conversation.

Reasons We Shouldn’t Fear the Money Conversation

It’s time to set aside anything and everything you know about money. I am going to touch on a few points that I believe will help make the money conversation easier. Before you continue reading, remember some of these tips are going to challenge your belief about money.

1. Remember that we are in business to make money!

First, we have to remember that we are in business to make money! We are not in business for fun or to save other people money. We have to shift that mentality first. When you realize you’re in the business to make money, it will change your entire perspective on conversations about money.

2. Stop assigning a moral value to money

Do you know the saying “money is the root of all evil?” The truth is the LOVE of money is the root of all evil and even in that it means do you love money more than people, more than doing what’s right? The bible says “For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evils. It is through this craving that some have wandered away from the faith and pierced themselves with many pangs.” 1 Timothy 6:10

So, money in and of itself is not dirty, evil, nor causes problems for those who are wise about earning it. If you go around thinking of money as inherently bad, you’re always going to limit yourself when it comes to attaining financial abundance. Even subconsciously, there will always be doubts and resistance in your mind to obtaining wealth.

Money has no moral value. It is just something that allows you to buy things and live your lifestyle in a certain way. Once you stop assigning a moral value to money, you can start having a REAL conversation about it!

3. Money should be taken off the pedastool

How many times have you put money on a pedastool? Well, it’s time to stop because this is keeping us from the money conversation. Once you remove the idea that money is up here and you are down here, true conversations can start happening. Here are a few examples of people putting money on a pedastool.

  • “When I make this amount of money that’s when I know that I’ve arrived”
  • “When I have this many clients that’s when I’ll be enough and I can really show up”
  • “Glorifying a monthly money goal…get over it!”
  • “What thoughts in your head are making money a big deal?”
  • “Take back your power with money”

Once  money is brought down to the right level, it’s much easier to talk about!

Tips for Making the Money Conversation Easier

I do have a few tips that will make having the money conversation easier. Take a deep breath and check out these tips to make the money conversion happen.

  • Find people you feel safe talking about money
  • Find a female mentor who is not afraid to talk about money
  • Create an environment for yourself where it’s safe to fail and learn
  • Find classes that educate you on sales, pricing, and negotiating
  • Build your confidence in talking about money by being transparent in your home first
  • Find opportunities in your community to talk about money

So, what can you do to help make the money conversation easier for yourself and those around you? One great way to start is by finding people with whom you feel safe talking about money. This could be a female mentor who is not afraid to talk openly about finances, or a group of friends with similar interests in learning more about personal finance.

Once you have a few people you feel comfortable talking to about money, begin creating an environment for yourself where it is safe to fail and learn. By taking these small steps, you can begin to make the conversation around money more comfortable and open – ultimately leading to a more financially empowered community.

5 Ways New Age Beliefs Can Hinder Your Christian-based Business

5 Ways New Age Beliefs Can Hinder Your Christian-based Business

One of the biggest dangers of mixing New Age beliefs with Christianity is that it can severely hinder your business. After all, if you’re constantly sharing about love and abundance but using manipulative techniques to get what you want from customers or clients, they’re not likely to respond well to your message.

5 Ways New Age Beliefs Can Hinder Your Christian-based Business

1. Causing Confusion

One of the biggest issues is that many New Age beliefs are simply not compatible with Christianity. For example, some New Agers believe in being able to manifest whatever your heart desires, while Christians do not. This, alone, can create a lot of confusion and division within your Christian-based business.

If you’re confused about your belief system, then it’s vital that you take the time to know exactly what you believe and how that aligns with God (and owning a Christian-based business). Causing confusion for yourself and those you do business with can only cause more issues for both parties.

2. Creating a Distrustful Environment

When you mix Christianity with New Age beliefs, it can also create a distrustful environment. If people don’t know what you believe or are unsure of who you trust, they’re likely to be very hesitant to do business with you. This can lead to a lot of lost opportunities and revenue.

There is nothing more confusing than when you are trying to do business with another Christian-based business and everyone is confused. When everyone is on the same page spiritually, BIG things can happen. However, ALL of this is only possible if YOU are co-partnered with God in the right way. Don’t create a distrustful environment with others by confusing them with what you believe.

3. Incompatible Belief Systems

As mentioned above, one of the biggest dangers of mixing New Age beliefs with Christianity is that they are often incompatible. This can lead to taking people away from Christ versus drawing them closer. For example, some Christians may believe that Jesus is the only way to salvation, while some New Agers may believe in monism.

This can create a lot of tension and make it difficult to effectively communicate with one another. It’s important that if you’re running a Christian-based business you understand that God has ALL the answers for you, it’s just a matter of accessing your divine strategy.

4. Lack of Focus

Another issue that can arise from mixing New Age beliefs with Christianity is a lack of focus. When you have too many different belief systems competing for attention, it can be difficult to stay focused on how you truly want to run your business. Learning to focus on what God has for you and co-partner with Him will get you the results that are profitable and purposeful.

5. Encouraging Physical Materialism

New Age beliefs can also encourage physical materialism. This is when people focus more on acquiring physical things rather than using their gifts, talents, and abilities to genuinely help others. This often leads to greed, envy, and other negative emotions, which are not conducive to a successful business.

Final Thoughts

As you can see, there are a number of ways that New Age beliefs can hinder your Christian-based business. If you’re looking to be successful, it’s best to avoid mixing these two philosophies. Instead, stay focused on biblical principles and run your business in a way that honors God.

How and Why Do New Age Beliefs Sneak into the Business World?

How and Why Do New Age Beliefs Sneak into the Business World?

There are a few reasons why New Age Beliefs sneak into the business world. It’s easy to take shortcuts and want things quickly when you’re in the business world.  Businessmen and women may be attracted to the idea of using these New Age Beliefs to help them achieve success. So, how and why do New Age Beliefs sneak into the business world, more specifically the Christian business world?!

What are New Age beliefs?

There is no single answer to this question, as New Age beliefs can be quite varied and personal. Generally speaking, however, New Age beliefs encompass a range of spiritual and holistic philosophies that emphasize self-awareness, positive thinking, and the idea that we are all connected to a greater force or energy. While these beliefs may seem innocuous enough on their own, they can sometimes sneak into the Christian business world.

1. Desire to Quickly Increase Profits

How are New age beliefs easily working their way into the Christian business world? There are a few possible explanations for why this is happening. One possibility is that the business world is looking for a way to increase profits, and it is believed that by aligning oneself with New Age beliefs, this can be accomplished. Another possibility is that New Age beliefs offer a sense of hope and positive thinking during difficult times, and businesses are drawn to this idea.

2. Trying to Be “in” With the World

New Age beliefs sneak into the business world because most companies are trying to be “hip” or “in the know” with the world’s workforce. It’s easy to accept things such as reincarnation, astrology, and belief in spiritual energy that is not of God. If you run a Christian-based business, it’s important to be in alignment with what God says and not what the world says. Being co-partnered with God is the only way you can fully step into that power with God.

3. Humans Think They Have Super Powers

New Age beliefs easily sneak into the business world because it’s so easy to rely on your own strength and abilities. The truth is, relying on yourself will only so far. When you stop limiting beliefs and negative emotions and thoughts to get in the way of you taking divine action towards your goals and dreams, God can start moving in your life.

4. Quick Success and Getting Rich Fast

Who doesn’t like the idea of getting rich fast or quick success? It’s so easy to allow New Age Beliefs in the business world because quicker is always better. In reality, God DOES desire is that you have life more abundantly. However, He wants you to do all things through Him and not on your own. Anything we do without the power of God isn’t something that will last long term.

Final Thoughts

This list just reiterates that it’s easy to stray from God’s word and what He has for us in our Christian-based business. Trying to be “in” with the world, desire to quickly increase profits, wanting to do things on our own, and trying to have quick success are all things that easily align with the New Age belief system. However, if you don’t take the time to co-partner with God and *try* to do it ALL on your own, you may experience disappointment and frustration.

What are New Age beliefs?

Before diving into specific beliefs, we first need to identify what the New Age movement is in the first place. First and foremost, New Age is not a religion. Instead, it should be seen as a belief system. This is why you won’t see specified New Age “churches” more than groups of people who simply share the same outlook and philosophies of this belief system.

In short, New Agers do not see the Messiah as the Savior. If anything, they see Him as a teacher of some kind. In addition to this, they also see everything as ‘spiritual,’ including the physical earth. The biggest belief comes in the form of monism – the belief that everything is one.

With this in mind, let’s look at several New Age beliefs that make their way into the Christian business world.

3 New Age Beliefs that Sneak Into the Christian Business World

Establishing your business in your own power (without including God).

One of the biggest mishaps Christians can make is launching their business in their own power. For the New Age believer, they have the power to create and do what they want because they are one with their creation. However, for Christian believers who understand where true power and authority come from, it becomes dangerous territory to step into creating anything without praying & seeking God first.  This is not an attempt to merely include God in every aspect of their business – but to seek him in relationship and listen to Holy Spirit about what you are called to co-partner with God on.

In order to dodge establishing your business in your own power, make sure you are co-partnering with God versus trying to be the one in complete control. Dedicate your business to Him and make every effort to be obedient and trust Him in everything you do.

Adopting the law of attraction mindset to grow your business.

I have seen Scripture taken completely out of context to support the law of attraction ideology. However, the truth of the matter is that the law of attraction concept is not a biblical principle. Even more so, it is not supported by God in any way. Adopting the New Age mindset that you have the power to attract certain people out of your own strength or for various reasons removes the work of the Holy Spirit to help you discern if people are right for you and your business.

Instead of focusing on attracting people through positive thoughts and the magnetic power of the Universe, be in prayer about who God wants in your life. Also, be in prayer for discernment about all business connections and ties. Trust and rest assured that God is already putting the perfect people in your path.l because you are working alongside him to bring about the will He has for your life! This process has little to do with “your own power”.

Using Scripture in manifesting and incantational ways.

There is a huge difference between using Scripture for affirmations versus in a manifesting and incantational way. Similar to the law of attraction outlook, New Agers typically believe they can manifest anything their heart desires. The truth if the matter is that we are co-partnered with God to manifest His will and desire on earth. This is usually based on their belief that they, too, can be all-seeing and all-knowing. Therefore, they have the power to bring anything to pass that they think of.

Stay clear of falling into this trap by using Scripture in its proper context. This means remembering Who the Word of God is speaking of and from where the power of its Words flows. If you choose to use Scriptures for affirmation, be in prayer and meditation about their true meaning and what it means for your life and business.

Final Thoughts

There is no doubt that New Age deceptions sneak into the Christian business world. As a woman of faith in business, I personally understand and have navigated some of these traps set by the enemy to convince us that we can create what we want when we want, especially if done in the Name of Jesus. However, these beliefs are slithers of lies and strongholds embedded into our worldview. They must be shaken up by acknowledging God’s authority! It’s always best to do biblical things in biblical ways even when it comes to business.

expose the new age beliefs in your business and connect with your deepest soul-desire in a godly way

The world has tricked you into thinking that YOU have the burden and stress of manifesting the desires of your heart into your life, family, & business. In addition, New Age beliefs will lead you to believe that you have all the control through the law of attraction and chanting incantations.

I challenge you to flip that on its head! If God gave you the desire, He will manifest the provision alongside your obedience and faithfulness to fulfill the desire he gave you all along. If you’re a multi-passionate high-achieving mompreneur who desires to have a thriving business & family life then I invite you to join me for Delight & Desires Masterclass.

Top 3 Things You Can Do to Bring Glory to God in Your Business

Top 3 Things You Can Do to Bring Glory to God in Your Business

When seeking to bring glory to God in your business, there are several key things you can do. As a woman of faith in business, I’ve seen and personally navigated the struggles that come with stepping out on faith. The business world isn’t always so pretty and it can easily attempt to snare you in ways that aren’t pleasing to God or good for your business. In this post, we’re going to look at practical ways you can honor God with your business.

bring glory to God in your business

Top 3 Things You Can Do to Bring Glory to God in Your Business

Always submit your plans and ideas to Him.

It can be super easy to get a great idea and instantly want to run with it. However, getting into the habit of doing so could also create a ripple effect in your business that may do more harm than good. It’s better to get into the habit of always praying and submitting your ideas and plans to God first. Then, be in a position to hear what He has to say about it.

I believe we are all given a Spirit-meter (thank you Holy Spirit) that will direct us in the ways that we should go. The answers we receive may not always be what we want, but when done in proper order and timing, it always yields the best results. I suggest grabbing an “ideas and plans” braindump journal to have a place for writing down everything that ever comes to mind. This will can then serve as your prayer journal to help you keep track of what your plans/ideas were, prayers, and God’s responses.

Be the light in your industry.

You may have already witnessed how easy it is to be blind-sided by what seems to be popular and trending. And in most cases, it’s not always the things of God. However, you should never dim your light, your mission, or your faith because it may not seem popular. Instead, continue to show up in the light and through the countenance of God.

Ask Him to give you the words to say and pray for the right people to see and be inspired by it. He would never ask you to dim yourself to stay popular or be liked by others. In fact, I’m willing to bet He would bless you for doing the exact opposite.

Adopt a gratitude mindset.

There will be times when nothing seems to be going right. Perhaps it’s a flopped course launch or incredibly low sales. This is where having a mindset of gratefulness can help you stay focused on the good things and blessings of having your business. Seeing things from a grateful perspective also helps you to see things differently.

Instead of seeing a failed business, you will begin to see ways to change things for the better. When you want to give up, a grateful attitude will see how to put one foot in front of the other.

Final Thoughts about how to bring glory to god in your business

Adopting these practical, yet powerful, things to bring glory to God in your business is a sure way to honor Him in what you do. If you’re not already doing these things, start with one at a time until it becomes a habit, then add another. Before you know it, you’ll have a completely new outlook and mindset that brings glory to God!

How to clarify your goals (so you know when you’ll reach them)

How to clarify your goals (so you know when you’ll reach them)

It’s one thing to set goals; however, it is important to clarify your goals so you know when you will reach them. In this post, we’re going to look at several practical tips for helping you go beyond simply setting goals. Instead, you’ll click away with the confidence and clarity to set goals that build momentum and purpose in your business

how to clarify your goals

How to Clarify Your Goals

To help put this process into perspective, we’re going to look through the SMART goals model. This isn’t a new method by any means, but it’s typically not a person’s go-to when setting goals. In most cases, you may have grabbed a piece of paper and answered the open-ended questions like where you want to be in 3 years, 5 years, things you want to accomplish, and so on. While there’s not anything wrong with that, setting goals based on that alone isn’t always enough.

Clarify your goals by being specific.

Being specific about your goals starts with thinking about what you want to accomplish. Do you want to make a certain income? Are you looking to enroll a certain number of people in your coaching program? Once you’re able to identify answers to these questions, you can begin to determine what steps need to be taken to achieve it.

Clear goals should be measurable.

This is where being able to track your goals comes into play. Let’s use the example of wanting to enroll clients into your exclusive coaching program. You’ll want to identify the number of clients so you’ll have something to measure and track. If the number is 5, then with each enrollment, you’ll be able to track how close you are to your goal. Having this number will also help you track income earned from each enrollment, which helps to know if you have an earned income goal.

Clarifying your goals involves making sure they are achievable.

Reality and expectations meet when it’s time to set goals that are actually achievable. If you’re just starting your business, setting a goal to make a million dollars in your first month may not be very realistic. When setting your goals, ask yourself if it’s something you can actually accomplish.

Clear goals are relevant to you and your business.

It’s easy to look at what others are accomplishing and set goals according to their success. This is the number one way to get yourself off track. Always set goals that are relevant to you and your business. Think about why you are setting the goal you want to achieve. Are you looking to get out of debt? Is there a dream vacation you’d like to save up for? Keep your life, business, and journey in mind as you clarify your goals.

Having clarity in goal setting involves time specificity.

In other words, your goals need to have a time frame in which you’d like to reach them. Without one, it could be easy to lose track of where you are in reaching it. Once you’ve written your goals, begin to think in terms of the tasks that it will take to reach them. Then, give those tasks a time limit. From there, you’ll be able to track your progress more fluidly.

Final Thoughts

Using the SMART goal setting method, you can begin to clarify your goals so you know when you’ll reach them. This rinse and repeat cycle can easily accommodate any business and style. Check out this podcast to hear more about clarifying your goals and how this method can be a game-changer for you and your business.
