“The beauty of a woman must be seen from in her eyes, because that is the doorway to her heart, the place where love resides.”
-Audrey Hepburn-
As I meet christian women in business I see this topic of visibility as one that on the surface seems easy enough. It seems easy to make sure that your business and services are at the forefront and that you are connecting with other, networking with others. Easy enough. Consciously you know you need to be visible but somehow someway you keep playing small. It’s one thing to show up physically it’s another to show up with intention of how you want to connect, what you have to offer with clarity around the problems you solve and the offer you have to give. Visibility mindset is the foundation to how you show up and just how visible you’ll allow yourself to become with your calling.
How are you showing up for your audience? Are you showing up confident and knowing that it’s perfectly ok for you to speak your mind. Are openly sharing your why and your deeper message around your brand? Are you showing up energized knowing that you are a viable solution? Are you showing up with amazing content that speaks to your clients pain points and desires? Are you staying consistent with your content? Have you hired a team of experts to aid you in this game called visibility and not just being visible but being visible and aligned with your soul’s purpose?
I’ve seen women who are visible with ease around the work that they feel is expected of them. It’s perfectly safe to talk about the new job you just got because others will praise you for going status quo. It’s easier to share about the contract work you do with a corporate company but when it comes time to share your course and your book that you wrote…you choke. You worry about what people will say, what they will think, if you are good enough.
Do you need to be connected to something or someone bigger than yourself to feel validated?
I’ve seen women who are top sellers for the company they W-9 with but when it comes to working on a coaching program that they design their confidence disappears. When it comes to selling that program they become fearful that no one will buy. I’ve worked with women who easily secure $130,000 corporate clients but when it comes down to freelancing for their own agency or business they question themselves. They wonder if the decisions they make are right for their company are right?
It’s almost like women don’t trust their intuition, passions, talents, and abilities to be enough in their chosen industry. That’s what comes across when you play small with the god-given vision placed in our heart. That’s what comes across when you allow your visibility mindset to operate at a low level. Women want their talents, passions, and abilities attached to a company or brand bigger than themselves so they don’t have to be fully seen. So no one can find them out. They don’t want anyone to see that they are simply who they are which is absolutely more than enough. You just haven’t figured that part out yet. This is why confidence and mindset around personal visibility is so important for women of faith.
Are you comfortable holding the spotlight on your vision and purpose not backed by anyone but you and God? He is the one who has given you the vision. He is the one who has given you the skillset. What is needed to uplevel your confidence and increase your visibility mindset meter?
First you need to acknowledge:
All the traumas in your life where you were made to feel like you small
All the traumas in your life where you were made to feel invisible
The trauma that caused you to close your mouth and not speak up
The trauma that cause you to not stand up for yourself
The judgement you made of others who weren’t afraid of the spotlight
The judgment you made of your others who were loud and stood up for themselves
The lies you told yourself around why you shouldn’t be seen
The lies you told yourself around why you stay small
The vows you’ve made to continue to play small
When you heal the subconscious bitter root of your judgements and expectancies then you can walk in confidence and carry a visibility mindset that is ready for any opportunity that comes your way. Not just your own confidence but confidence in Jesus, the confidence in the God that we serve. It’s hard to fully align with the confidence and the truth that we can do all things through Christ who strengthens us when that truth is tainted by our own judgments, expectancies and childhood traumas. Let’s get to the root of what’s causing you to miss out on the visibility around your calling that is meant for you!!!

Do What You Love: 3 Powerful Lessons on Leading Your Business with Purpose
This post may contain affiliate links. For full affiliate disclosure click here.
“You can only become truly accomplished at something you love. Don’t make money your goal. Instead pursue the things you love doing, and then do them so well that people can’t take their eyes off of you.” — Maya Angelou
What is it that you love most about your business? Is it the fact that you lead with purpose? Are you wondering how to lead your business with purpose? Let’s explore what purpose means.
Purpose
This is the reason for which something is done or created or for which something exists. Your something is “business”. We all have a reason for why our businesses exist or why we want to have a business. We all have an underlying why. We feel it and we sense it. We believe there’s something more, even if we can’t exactly put our finger on it. You started a business and as you begin to do the work on your why you may find that the work you’re currently doing isn’t the business or career for you and that’s ok. Because the goal is to be doing something that you love.
“Sometimes we fall into the trap of thinking that there’s no place to monetize what we love”
Lesson 1: Get Clear
This means that in order to begin to lead with purpose you must be really clear on your reason for beginning your business in the first place. When I first thought about going into entrepreneurship, the only reason I could think of was to make an extra $500 a month. I was a stay at home mom and I wanted to bring in some extra spending money. Money goals are amazing things to have but we really need to begin to dig deeper and underneath the surface of money. I encourage women of faith to visualize their business plans with God .
Or Learn the Hard Way
I remember trying so many different careers and direct sales companies. I never had a clear why on starting these. From insurance sales, substitute teaching, teaching overseas, retail positions to Mary Kay, Avon, Melaleuca, Tastefully Simple, and Doterra. You name it I’ve probably tried a version of it. My purpose then was jumping into the next best thing that could bring me money. What a way to so not lead in my own entrepreneurial journey. How can you begin to lead women in business if you aren’t clear on why you are creating in the first place?
Lesson 2: Your Why is a Direct Connection to Your Purpose
I went so many years spending no real time in this area. When I met my first coach that was supposed to show me how to attract my ideal clients through conversation, she showed me how important my why was. We spent over 3 months on this. Why so long? Because…Your why is connected to:
- Your content
- You programs
- Your products
- Your social media presence
- Your live videos
- Your email series
- Your sales pages
- How you interact with your clients
- How you attract your clients
Your why is everything. If we don’t live in our why’s we get disconnected from the purpose in our businesses.
Lesson 3: Value and Beliefs Hone in Your Purpose
When it comes to leading your Business with purpose it’s important that you’ve created a business that is centered around your value and beliefs. Sometimes we feel we must create cookie-cutter, stale businesses that are centered around hard cold facts and what we can see working out. As God-centered multi-passionate women of faith, your value and beliefs are the guiding force in your life. Getting clear on how that relates to your passion-based business is so essential to being in alignment with your purpose.
Conclusion
God does not operate in a cold impersonal manner and he doesn’t always show us a clear cut path. We are called to walk by faith and not sight. So if the business idea God has given you isn’t as clear cut as you would like it to be, don’t fret because you are leading with purpose my dear; the purpose that has been placed on your life as a woman of faith in the marketplace. 3 Simple Ways to Get Your Content Out With Less Distraction
Introduction
Deer in headlights and 30 mins passes by…you planned to get on social media in order to grow your business and serve your ideal clients and you realize that you are scrolling through and looking at everyone else’s issues and lives. Stop letting the scroll button steal your ability to create the impact that you desire. Like I tell my clients a blank google document is your best friend. That’s exactly where I started off writing up this blog post.
Let me share a few tips with you:
If you are using social media for your business here are some steps to help you stay focused
- Create your individual posts in a blank google document
- Revisit old coaching calls and pull themes from topics you’ve already helped your clients with
- If you haven’t gotten your first clients yet. Read inspirational books and write about your takeaways and add your personal touch and then give valuable content in that way
Here are a few more ideas
I realize that I’m always talking about something pretty deep but doesnt always make it on the platforms that I desire it to. So going through my day and thinking over the conversations that I’ve had an deciding what is most valuable to share with my audience helps too
How to get that content from the blank page to your audience
Once you’ve gathered those thoughts and you’ve written them out in a document then copy and paste in the facebook box that says “what on your mind?”. When I try to write out my thoughts for a facebook page or group or complimentary facebook directly in the box…i loose my train of thought, I might have formatting errors, I tend to get fuzzy. You can avoid all of this by first writing out your complete thoughts in a blog such as this and then pull minor thoughts and phrases from the complete thought in whole.
Don’t forget start in a blank document
Get to the work you desire to do first by working on your content in a blank document. You can always avoid even going to the social media platform by scheduling out the work in a scheduling software like hootsuite, tailwind, etc… You really don’t even have to go to your timeline. Go straight to notifications and only click on the ones where someone has commented on your posts or replied to your comment so you can engage with your audience there.
These steps above are just a few of the ways that I strategically use social media platforms like Facebook in order to stay focused on the amazing content that I know I’m called to get out into the world.

INTERESTED IN WORKING TOGETHER?
by Justina Ford | Apr 26, 2017 | Business Mindset, Money & Sales Mindset, Visibility Mindset and Strategy
Introduction
I hear women use this phrase “I’ll never be a real business owner”. They secretly tell me their greatest fear of never being a real business owner.
You know what I say, “You’re right you will never BE a business….you’re more than that. And you’ll never be an Owner…technically you dont own anything. It all belonged to God first.”
This thing called BEING is so much bigger than we like to ponder on, Who you are is bigger than the titles that others want to put on you and bigger than the titles even you feel you need to hold or carry in order to BE someone or somebody.
Your existence is greater than the stale walls and barriers of a traditional “business”.
Maybe what you really want is to carry yourself in a professional manner and have your soul clients invest in your services.
I mean in all honesty being in business means you are engaging in these activities below
You take the time to be clear about your offerings
You are a decision maker
You are taking nothing and turning it into something
You have a heart to serve your soul clients
You serve them authentically and genuinely
You take the time to research what your clients want and need (these two are pretty different)
You are learning the way your clients speak so you can stand out in a crowd of sameness
You are being strategic about the solutions you provide to your clients
Youare staying connected and visible with your clients through transformational content that truly solves problem
Sometime we struggle with the cliche titles and labels let’s digger deeper on these things and really evaluate if we are being who we truly want to be.
Qualities of a business owner:
Are you being:
A go-getter
Decision Maker
Driven
Goal-oriented
Passionate
Self-Reliant
Humble resilient
Confident
Budget-minded
Focused
Open-minded
Conclusion
You see this title of business owner is much broader than we think. . It’s about possessing the qualities of a business owner first then bringing in the profit.
A lot of times I see women who want the profits but they don’t want to show up for themselves. They aren’t driven, they aren’t confident, yet they want the title of business owner, entreprenuer whatever you want to call it.
Work on being the woman who serves others, shows up for herself, and keeps her word before you can be a successful “business owner”. This is the essence of becoming the woman you want be. You do this by embodying her, acting in the now, the way she would if she had all the money, possessions, and things that you desire
You can do it, it first takes working on yourself, your mindset, and outlook of whose business you are operating!

Are you avoiding visibility in your life?
I’ve never really had an issue with showing my “work”. My work is a part of my life right? My definition of “work” has been the image that shows the makeup application that I’ve provided… coined “my work”. As a makeup artist I have to showcase my work. It has to be visible in order for my business to thrive. This beautiful work of makeup artistry application that is applied to a carefully chosen model that is then in turned edited by a professional photographer, it sounds like an excellent process but in the grand scheme of moving toward visibility, in a whole sense it’s not. When it comes to portfolio building or showcasing my talents, I’ve done this in a careful calculated way, And for years I had always left “me” out of the equation; leaving the artist and her soul behind the scenes nowhere to be found.
How have you gone about being visible? Is it a care calculated process to showing only what you want other to see? Has there been an element of vulnerability and authenticity misssing?
This process of perfection is a true hindrance to being visible!
However….I have had bigger goals than just applying beautiful makeup. I’ve also achieved those goals too. Goals like starting my own coahing company, starting a christian coach certificaiton program, and growing my makeup business to talent agency stats.
There was a time when each person’s face that my makeup brushes touched had no clue about the other aspects and gift that I had, I (Justina Ford) had so much more than a makeup application to offer. There’s a level of mentorship, mindset & strategt work around visibility, money, communication, and collaboration that I had to engage in, in order to see the results that I have had, this far. I’ve been able to take my clients on a beautiful journey of healing their limiting beliefs and creating their soulfully aligned brands.
However, This whole idea of perfection that I’ve implemented in making my work visible stifled my ability to step out and just offer new solutions, gifts and talents to multipassionate women of faith who were looking to be seen, heard, and profitable in their own markets. I was stifled for years. I had to get out perfectionism mode, I had to stop being afraid to be seen. This fear of visibility showed up first in my makeup business.
For a long time as a makeup artist, I never posted any pictures of myself. I didn’t want to deter clients away from working with me. I didn’t want to be judged by the color of my skin or by the crazy bigness and naturalness of my hair. I’m not a naturally glammed up person so my lack of desire to wear makeup on a daily basis caused me to hold back from being visible as well. “What will they think of me?” “They’ll say she surely doesn’t know what she is talking about”. I thought seeing my work and work alone would be good enough. I tried to hide. I wanted to be invisible, it wasn’t about me it, it should have only been about the work.
SO not true…you are an integral part of your work
But this wasn’t true. It wasn’t until I stepped out of my comfort zone of hiding behind the work did I see a shift. I had to go out to networking events, set up the meetings, and start up the conversations. Peopel needed to see me and what I stood for: Beauty, Business, & Beliefs.
As I navigate this online world of social media, I have found that people want to see YOU, they HAVE to see YOU. It’s almost a requirement. For small business owners, coaches, consultants, and creatives who want to touch the lives of so many in a personal way, you must be willing to show yourself. I’m not just talking about showing an image of yourself either, I’m talking about speaking openly to our values, your beliefs, nurturing your audience with great content, being genuine, and authentic in our approach. The right clients will come that understand your value and how you’re able t help to propel them from from where they are to where they want to be.
