Let’s chat about clues that show you may be out of alignment with your natural giftings. Lately, my daughter’s been experiencing some stress around all the different paths she can take in her life right now. Seeing her navigate this hurdle made me think of this space here – accepting your natural giftings and being in alignment with them. There’s no doubt about the fact that we all face this hurdle at some point in our entrepreneurial journey. In fact, I’d almost say it’s a necessary path to take.
How often do you stress about…
What you should do?
What action you should take next?
Should you leave that soul-sucking job?
Should you launch that particular program?
Or, should you be operating the business you’re running as of now (or be doing something else)?
These questions may seem taxing; however, they are perfectly fine to ask. When you find yourself at the crossroads of answering each one, they actually give you very much-needed clues about your next steps. The biggest hindrance is when you get stuck in the answers. Once you’ve answered them, it’s time to take action.
it all boils down to your natural giftings
I often walk my clients through an exercise that invites them to take a look back at their childhood. While visiting memories, we hone in on experiences that endorse their natural giftings. These are what typically come to life in their chosen line of work.
If you just happen to do this exercise, pay attention to the little things that lit you on fire when you were just a kid. Think about the qualities you had that felt natural to operate in. Then, you’ll most likely arrive at the conclusion of what you should be doing.
Sometimes we let the fear of pursuing something new or the fear of missing out get in the way of living a life fulfilled. Are you worrying more about how you’re going to take care of yourself versus how much you can trust God to catch you when you take a leap into what feels natural and what feels good?
When I say what feels natural and what feels good, I’m referring to how you serve in this lifetime within the capacity of your everyday being, everyday energy, and everyday operations. If the thought of this space has you stumped or feeling out of alignment, let’s highlight some cues to confirm that notion.
5 Clues You’re Out of Alignment with Your Natural Giftings
These clues aren’t meant to be off-putting. The truth of the matter is we have to come to terms with any and everything that is attempting to hinder our God-given giftings and abilities. These are the very essence of what makes businesses work, and any portion of it being out of alignment can jeopardize your true potential.
As you read through these clues and questions, answer them truthfully. Take time to meditate on your responses and even write them down:
You feel drained and you dread showing up in your current career.
You’re trying to pursue something to prove you’re good enough.
Other people’s voices are louder than the still, small voice of God.
You’ve allowed industry trends to derail you from your own ideas and creativity.
When someone asks you what you do, you cringe at trying to respond.
Do any of these sound familiar? Were your responses “yes” more than “no?” If so, here are some action steps to start taking now:
Be okay with where you currently are in life and business, but decide today that you’re not going to stay there.
Revisit your why and the whole purpose for starting your business.
Take another look at your goals and see if your day-to-day tasks are genuinely getting you there.
Refresh your why, vision, mission, and goals that align with where you want to be in life in business.
If there’s one thing we can all agree on, it’s the need to get aligned with God in your business. Without His alignment, you’ll find yourself believing the lies that you need to hustle, be overworked, and possibly underpaid. When you’re aligned with God, you’ll be able to dodge the traps of the world much easier than not. Let’s chat about several ways you can get in alignment with God and find peace, clarity, and stability in your business.
My Personal journey with getting aligned with god
I remember when I first entered this online business world. It was a confusing place. I was just a girl who wanted to transition from driving over an hour to my professional makeup jobs to being an online mindset & visibility coach. This would give me the ability to spend more time with my family.
At the same time, I knew I was a pretty good coach. I had been doing a form of mindset, clarity, and visibility coaching for mompreneurs for a long time. But, I still had doubts.
my doubts exposed
I want to share pieces of my personal journey so (1) you don’t feel like you’re the only one who has ever navigated this season, and (2) to let you know that I’m human! In 2016, these are some of the ways I was feeling:
Who would ever hire me to coach them?
Other women had it figured out and I didn’t have a clue.
I joined spiritual groups trying to grasp the concept of spirituality in business.
Tempted to pick a virtual tarot card.
I let a lady remote muscle test so me so I could get some inspiration about what I should be doing next in my business.
I was thinking law of attraction was what I was missing.
These may not seem like big issues, but none of it was true. Most importantly, none of it lined up with God and His Word. I honestly just wanted someone to give me guidance and tell me what to do! I hired 4 coaches, and 2 mentors/trainers.
This led me to spend over $20,000 on my own coaching and development, and I still came back to my center – Jesus Christ.
what I’ve learned along the way
I figured out what new age was and when a person says they are spiritual it doesn’t mean they have the same belief as me. I realized guidance from a coach is just that.. guidance. The truth is that I’m actually the owner and chief coach of my life and business. That means I get to make the final decision.
When it came to the Law of Attraction, I realized it was something that treated God like a Genie. Simply put, He is not! I learned that God actually wanted to have a real relationship with me. This relationship wouldn’t be one where I only spend time with Him when it’s time to focus and visualize what I want.
I learned that there are subconscious beliefs that hold us back and that the enemy has a whole lot to do with that. The enemy wants to hinder our calling and our influence in this world. Speaking of which, I learned that our calling is greater than entrepreneurship. It’s so much deeper than that.
We are called to be like Christ and to give thanks no matter the circumstance! God gives provision for his vision and when we get aligned with his purpose and plan, things click!
i had a clue… and so do you!
I’ve had amazing clients in my coaching business since 2015, and guess what? I actually had a clue all along and had been doing something right all along and I just didn’t trust it! I didn’t trust myself.
And so do you. You have a clue. You have a clue on how you’re supposed to show up, how you want to serve, the rates you really want to charge, and the impact you want to create. It’s already ringing true on the inside of you!
And when you coach with me, I help pull that clue out of you. Each and every time I’m going to point you back to looking within, looking toward Jesus the ultimate Creator. I do this because the Holy Spirit is your ultimate coach.
4 Ways to Get Aligned with God in Your Business
Stand in the truth of who you are.
The more you step out and make yourself known to the outside world, the more you’ll be bombarded with hundreds, even thousands, of others doing the same thing you are. In these moments, it will be tempting to become someone you’re not in order to reach your goals or a false representation of them. Get and stay aligned by being authentically you, no matter what.
walk in the confidence that god will never leave you.
This piece involves knowing, believing, and trusting that God is who He says He is. No matter what you’re going through or navigating in life (or business), He is the same yesterday, today, and forever. You have to walk in the confidence of knowing that He has good, prosperous plans for you.
learn how to release the past.
I believe this is an ongoing step because things that happen in the present will eventually become part of your past. If something has hurt you or cause some type of negative emotion, not knowing how to deal with it can drastically affect your future. Most people are not equipped to deal with this type of mindset work; however, this is partly where I come in!
Renew your mind and heart to operate at a higher level.
I don’t mean to sound “New Age-y,” but God’s thoughts and ways are higher than ours. This doesn’t mean that we shouldn’t strive to operate at a higher level of ourselves. In fact, this involves renewing your mind and heart to operate at a level that is focused and in tune with what God says about you. This type of alignment will give you the utmost confidence to show up as your true, authentic self.
Mindset work with me… IT gets deep!
We unpacked a lot in this post, but I’d like to end it with an invitation to work with me. I don’t want you to continue navigating your personal and business life not being clear on your vision, mission, and goals. I would love to come alongside you, link arms, and unlock your true potential and alignment with God.
As a woman and a leader in the coaching industry, building your business requires you to have a mindset for success. There are many facets to consider that will not only give you fuel to help your clients but also what you need in your own personal life. Coaches have the unique ability to mask things they may be going through; however, this doesn’t always work in your favor. In the end, the ultimate goal is to understand the role the healing process plays in your own life so you can stay connected with aligned opportunities.
3 Requirements to Have a Mindset for Success
Requirement #1: Have a clear definition of success.
Success can look like many things depending on who you’re talking to. One person may identify it as having a certain size house or driving a specific kind of car. Another may see success in making a certain amount of money per month. The big question here is how do you define success? Although this can change over time, you’ll want to be clear about what this means for you.
Grab a pencil and piece of paper and begin writing down your definition of success. You can most likely find your answer(s) within the goals you have set for your business. Pay attention to where your emphasis is placed as well. Is your definition of success monetarily based? Do you see and/or desire success in other areas? Think outside the box and include other aspects such as mental, emotional, and physical too.
Requirement #2: Ensure baggage from your past isn’t affecting your outlook of success.
Over 90% of my clients have an ah-ha moment while working through this requirement. They never make the connections with their past baggage and present outlook of success until we start talking about it. For example, I had one client realize that her fears around setting a high-ticket price to her service were connected to money struggles she witnessed by her mom as a child. Once she was able to make those connections, she could begin working on her fears around money.
This is just one example of past baggage, but on the same sheet of paper that you used to define success, write down any known baggage that you think could be affecting your outlook of success. Don’t worry about working through them right now, but get out as much as you can.
Requirement #3: Have the ability to release your fear of failure.
This generally means being able to be resilient and bounce back from your own hiccups, setbacks, and failures. None of these get the final say in whether or not you’re successful, but most people allow them to identify their future. If most of us are honest, we were either taught that failure was bad or not taught how to properly recover from it. These almost always show up while I’m working with my clients.
We typically get to a point where they finally identify subconscious struggles that end up robbing their confidence, tenacity, and desire to keep moving forward and reach their goals.
The Need for Healing Work
I briefly shared a few scenarios of how subconscious healing & energy psychology work can help you identify blockers that some people don’t realize they even have. The truth of the matter is the healing process brings about greater confidence and fewer triggers to scenarios that would bring about fear, rejection, misconnection, and the like.
The framework I use in both my consulting and certification programs teaches you how to develop a positive mindset, become self-motivating, and replace limiting beliefs with positive reframed and experiences. All of which go hand-in-hand with having the right kind of mindset for success.
I’d love to work with you!

People often ask how Soulfully Aligned You was born, and I realize that I haven’t quite told this story before. I’m always intrigued by how others started their businesses and from what deep places their motivation comes from. So, it’s only proper that I tell you about mine!
The Inner Battle
Before I ever started college, I had this inner battle about leaving my church to go off to college and pursue a degree in Psychology. I was warned by spiritual leaders that psychology would lead me away from God. So there was always this looming fear that I would renounce my faith to this secular industry of psychology.
With that fear, I sought to get my masters in counseling at a christian college and guess what? Pushing past that fear was the best decision I ever made. That program actually drew me closer to God. I was excited to be going into the counseling field and then I hit snag. I wouldn’t be getting my licensure due to military relocation and now I’d have to chart my own path.
God’s Plans vs. My Plans
God sent me on an unsuspecting path of pursuing an old passion of makeup artistry. During that time, I didn’t realize it would be a training ground for the mindset and visibility coaching I am presently doing today. The lessons learned during this time would prepare me for helping women who are wanting to take their desires and pivot or launch their passions. It would give me the confidence to help me take their passions from their little secret journals to a living breathing reality.
In my pursuit to grow my business again, that looming fear that business and money would lead me away from God began to stir up again. As a woman of faith, when you love God, you get cautious about the things that could possibly distract you, but you must be careful not to allow that caution to turn into fear.
How Soulfully Aligned You Was Born
What I know from this journey is that walking fully in your calling to the marketplace as a Christian Woman can be a foggy journey with unwarranted fears. It can come with triggers from your past, twists and turns, and ups and downs. You may even begin questioning yourself, not believing in yourself, and comparing yourself. At other times you may find yourself being okay with the status quo, not recognizing your worth, and playing way too small.
I was playing too small by hiding out in the makeup industry knowing that God was calling me to do much more than makeup! There’s a season for preparation and growth but at some point you either have to launch out or pivot into your more! When I found the Splankna Therapy Institute, that was my opportunity to pivot into my more. I took a leap of faith to learn this beautiful inner healing and mind body protocol and my life has never been the same.
Here I was a pro makeup artist with a Masters in Human Service Counseling in a room filled mainly with licensed therapists. I had the subtle thought “I don’t belong here.” In my training class there may have been 3 of us outliers who weren’t “qualified,” but that was okay because God had other plans for me. I had no clue how big they were.
I’m forever grateful to Sarah for allowing non licensed people to take her training. With her, the foundation for bridging the gap between mind body psychology, business coaching, and spirituality set my coaching business in motion.
My makeup artistry is about simplistic and natural outer beauty transformations that build confidence in women. My holistic coaching and training company is about an inner transformation. The kind that helps you manifest your God-inspired goals and desires for your life and business by walking in alignment. And not just any alignment, but aligned with the truth about what God believes about who you are and your abilities.

Ask any woman in business about her struggles and being visible will most likely be at the top of the list. But why is that?
If you’ve spent any time on my blog or in my Facebook group then you know my number one answer is always limiting beliefs. Another answer I have for that question is the mindset.
Both of these are such strong pieces that must be in place in order for you to see the entire picture of business, let alone your ideal client. Here are three struggles that come with being visible in your business and one tip to challenge you to begin overcoming them.
3 Struggles with Visibility
Before diving into the three struggles with visibility, it’s important to understand what it is in the first place. Simply put, visibility involves how you show up in the world, in your field, and for your ideal client.
It involves being able to confidently communicate your products and services in a way that leads people to trust you and what you’re offering them. It also involves the tasks necessary to put yourself out there to be seen in the first place.
With this in mind, let’s chat about the struggles with visibility.
struggle #1: limiting beliefs
I will forever be a slayer of limiting beliefs, and you should be too! These don’t miraculously go away simply because you’ve dealt with one this year or last year.
These will continue to arise as you move forward in your business. And honestly, they need too so you don’t become stuck or hindered in any way.
Limiting beliefs often come in forms of stories or thoughts that you believe about yourself and play a major role in how you show up in your business. With limiting beliefs playing on the record player, you’re most likely not showing up in your full potential.
struggle #2: interpretation
In my most recent podcast episode (check it out below), I shared part of my story linked to a particular limiting belief. The primary lesson I learned involved my interpretation of how a certain event happened.
Oftentimes, this can be the case for you. Perhaps the way you’re remember an incident or situation was interpreted in a way that then caused you to believe something less than about yourself.
Interpretation are certainly something to work through and correct if they are hindering your visibility whatsoever.
struggle #3: mindset
Of course I’m going to talk about mindset. It’s one of the top reasons why we have any issues at all, especially when it comes to showing up in our business.
Mindset is a work that I believe will always be ongoing. There will always be something to work through and overcome, but it’s the systems we set in place that will determine whether or not something is working for or against you.
how to overcome visibility sturggles
We can all agree that part of the struggle with visibility is the fear of taking up too much space or not being accepted by others.
With that in mind, I challenge you to do something that will most likely take you completely out of your comfort zone. I want you to take up MORE space. Yes, you read that right.
I want you to push your boundaries a bit and physically take up more space. Whether you’re on the couch in your living room, attending a business meet and greet, or making a post in a Facebook group – take up more space.
Listen to my latest Soulfully Aligned You podcast episode to hear even more about the struggles with visibility and how to begin overcoming them.
Every successful entrepreneur will admit there are beliefs that can hinder your visibility and business growth. The reason why some don’t succeed is that they ignore the hindrances and eventually burn out or quit. I don’t want this to be the case for you, and it’s why I invest so much time in mindset work. If you are believing any of the beliefs below, it’s time to recognize it and release it. You deserve it!
3 Beliefs That Hinder Your Visibility & Business Growth
“I don’t really have a clear idea of what I want.”
It’s okay to do some soul searching to pinpoint your passions, but oftentimes the hindrance lies in not having clarity. Whether you’re trying to fix your business to one passion or nervous about melting together multiple passions, having clarity will unlock your ability to be confident, visible, and reach goals with ease.
“What I have is not valuable enough.”
This belief is near the top of the list for every client I have worked with to date. It’s something I have even struggled with, which is why I know it to be a real visibility and alignment killer. You were created, designed, and structured with a unique way to communicate your passions and calling to the world. And because God created you, that alone makes your products and services valuable.
“I’m really not sure what I should be doing.”
Starting your business is one thing, but coming up with your trackable systems is another. I totally get it. It’s easy to get bombarded and side-tracked with all the 5-step programs and promises that if you do something this way, you’ll have a good system in place. That’s not always the case and I believe it takes a little mindset work.
How to Overcome What Hinders Your Visibility & Business Growth
I would need to write a new book to get to the foundations of this answer, but I will give you a short and sweet answer. I believe cutting the anchors starts with mindset and inner work.
Most people want to go from idea to instantly arrived – all without dealing with the inner work. And, without understanding the transition processes that take mindset work. And most of all, ignoring (or not dealing with) limiting beliefs and other hindrances.
I loved my chat with Zoe Dee in this week’s podcast episode because she kept it so real about this very subject. We went deep about processes, shifts, and realizing what’s needed to get where you’re going. Listen to the podcast below!
