As an entrepreneur, you’ve likely heard all kinds of advice of what it takes to succeed. However, have you discovered what is at the core of real business success? I’m not talking about having an elaborate business plan or the money to invest in awesome marketing.
It goes beyond that. I’m talking about core beliefs. These are what you believe about yourself and your business that truly holds the key to your success. Let’s examine at 5 core beliefs every entrepreneur should have to be successful.
BELIEVE IN YOURSELF.
Believing in yourself is much easier said than done. Yes, it’s easy to be your own cheerleader until something comes up that attempts to hinder what you’ve got going. A lot of times this lack of belief in self is rooted in an unhealed limiting belief system that will start a business-hindering cycle. Hence, why it’s important to always maintain a positive belief in yourself.
If you find that believing in yourself becomes difficult, remember your why. Think about why you have felt called to do what you’ve chosen to do. Thinking about those thoughts will help re-energize belief in yourself and your ability to walk out your why.
BELIEVE IN YOUR BUSINESS.
Sure, there comes a time when you may feel like your business isn’t doing anything or helping anyone. Again, this is where getting ahold of limiting beliefs comes in coupled with the ability to see your business in the right light. Why did you start your business? Who does your business help? Where do you see your business going?
Asking these questions is the start of believing in your business. Believe that your business has a purpose and that it will serve the right people. Even if you have just one customer or client, serve them as though you have twenty.
BELIEVE IN YOUR DECISION AND TAKE ACTION.
Decision making can often be seen as a difficult step (or skill) for some entrepreneurs. “Should I?” or “Shouldn’t I?” are the two biggest questions asked, and usually do one of two things – unlock growth or hinder growth. In reference to believing in your decision and taking action being a core belief linked to being successful, you’ll need the confidence to know that what you decide is the best decision for you and your business.
Keep in mind that others do not have to understand your decision-making process. In fact, sometimes it is best to either keep your business-making decisions to yourself or find a mastermind group that you trust.
BELIEVE IN THE PROCESS, NOT PERFECTION.
Success definitely doesn’t come because of perfection, more so than understanding the process. Believe in the process that your business requires. From a detailed business plan to developing actionable steps, whatever the process is for you to reach your goals must be trusted. This process will look different for every entrepreneur (as it should).
BELIEVE IN YOUR CONSUMERS.
Although this isn’t talked about as much, it is just as important. Believing in those that your business caters to is vital. Why? Simply put, they are the very reason you are in business. They believe in your product and your service, so that same trust and belief should be reciprocated. This also reinforces other core beliefs that are linked to business success.
When you have happy (and returning) consumers, it is much easier to believe in yourself, your business, your decisions, and in the process.
Now, having all of these beliefs isn’t the only thing that will bring you success. The thing about starting and growing a business is the process of self-growth. Never discredit that aspect, but embrace it. These core beliefs are ones that you should return to often, and work on constantly. You and your business will be better for it.
Have you ever wondered why some small businesses seem to be more successful than others? If you find yourself at a stagnant spot in your business where real growth doesn’t seem to be happening, perhaps there are some subconscious issues hindering your business growth. The four tips below are something that can be revisited as needed to ensure you and your business always stay on the up and up.
Four tips to prevent subconscious hindrance of your Business growth
#1 CHECK YOUR DESIRES
While it is true that desires can change, sometimes a business owner’s desires can come to a full stop. This will without a doubt affect your business growth. It’s important to always check your desires to ensure they line up with the vision, mission, and goals set for your business. Without desire, it becomes difficult to truly work toward seeing those things come to pass.
In the event you find that your desires have decreased, take a step back and re-evaluate the purpose of your business. Don’t hesitate to take the time you need to re-brand, re-focus, and re-start with your new desires in mind.
#2 EVALUATE YOUR LEVELS OF COMMITMENT AND RESPONSIBILITY.
If you haven’t already experienced it, there are times when you simply may not feel like doing something for or in your business. There are times when there is a need for breaks. However, if you find yourself diminishing in the areas of commitment and responsibility, these are red-flag worthy to pay attention to and fix.
Ignoring anything that is affecting your ability to commit to your business and continue the level of responsibility that it takes will only hinder your business growth. This can also cause damage that is hard to recover from. Revisi newfound inspiration.
#3 ENSURE YOU ARE MEETING YOUR CUSTOMER’S/CLIENT’S NEEDS.
Even with the best plans, packages, and customer service skills, something you can still be missing the mark on is truly meeting your customer and/or client’s needs. In your mind you can believe that you are doing so; however, your business statistics will reveal if it’s true (or not). To keep from imagining or assuming needs are being met, consider incorporating some form of data collection.
This can be by means of a feedback form, testimonial request, or questionnaire. Give your customers/clients the opportunity to provide reviews, and ask them to be open and honest. Let them know that their response will help you provide better business, and is greatly appreciated.
DITCH THE “WING-IT” ATTITUDE.
It is one thing to have a plan or set of goals in your mind. It’s another to actually have them written down (or typed out) so you can visibly see them and actively work toward them. The “wing-it” attitude is one that can subconsciously hinder your business the most because it doesn’t provide real direction.
For example, without a strategic marketing plan for a product or service, you may be tempted to hop on social media and post content completely irrelevant to your business goals. Without clear cut goals, you could be missing out on reaching your audience and clearly communicating how you can help them. Each of these examples are typical side effects of the “wing-it” attitude, and things that definitely hinder your business growth.
#4 DON’T THINK INVESTING IN YOUR BUSINESS IS BAD.
When first starting a business, you may think that investing in it isn’t such a good idea. Or, you may not see a need for it. Most successful business owners will tell you that it is absolutely vital that you invest in your business. Whether you choose to invest in personal development, a business coach, or a virtual assistant to help with the backend – it is all super helpful.
Investing in your business only has a downfall when you are not investing in things that actually help you. Create a budget for investing in the growth of your business, then make relevant choices based on your preset (or future) needs.
ARE YOU SUBCONSCIOUSLY HINDERING YOUR BUSINESS GROWTH?
After reading these tips, how do you feel? Do you believe you could be subconsciously hindering the growth of your business? If so, it’s okay. You’ve taken the first step by identifying possible roadblocks. The next step is to take action toward getting past them.
Remember, these tips can be revisited from time to time to make sure you and your business stay in a constant flow of growth! As a soulful-business alignment practitioner, I can help you identify any hindrances and create the traction you need to take your business from stagnant to soaring. Let’s chat!
Think for a moment… How many goals have you set, but never reached? What do you think the reason is behind that? Lack of drive, ambition, or a real strategy that brings results? Regardless of why you haven’t reached them, let’s talk about five key mindset shifts to help you manifest reachable goals.
CHECK YOUR VISION
If you’ve been in business for any amount of time, most likely you have written out a vision statement. This statement serves as the focus for your business and helps with taking it in the direction you envision it to go. However, sometimes we can get off track from our vision and could use a reset.
In this case, it is important that your goals are in alignment with your vision. If they do not compliment each other, then it could be a reason why you’re not seeing goals met. If you find that your goals are not quite in alignment with your vision statement, it’s okay. Take time to think about a fresh set of goals and follow the remaining tips.
BE CLEAR ABOUT WHAT YOU WANT
When I ask a client, “What do you want from your business? What do you hope to get out of your business?” they are either at a loss for words, or can give an elaborately detailed answer that they are still struggling to achieve. Being clear about what you want is one of the most overlooked steps when wanting to reach goals.
Why? Because most people only have a clouded vision of what they want coupled with a lack of detail as to how to get what they want. To start gaining clarity, get a notebook and begin to write down what you want in plain detail… down to the minutiae of your dreams.
BOOST YOUR MOTIVATION
Do you remember that feeling you felt when first starting your business? The burst of energy to plan all the things, do all the things, and the motivation to make it all work. That same tenacity isn’t always long-lived, and it takes a mental shift to keep your motivation boosted.
Sometimes what kept your momentum up in the beginning isn’t what will keep going, especially when things get tough. To keep a fire in your momentum tank, consider asking yourself the following questions:
Who is impacted by my dream?
Who benefits from my business?
What would happen if I gave up?
These three questions alone can bring a new outlook to your vision, mission, and why you have started your business in the first place.
KEEP YOUR BELIEFS CHECK
In the last blog post of this series, we talked about having the mindset have a healed limiting belief system. This is an ongoing practice because as soon as you’ve mastered one belief, something else can creep up and attempt to bring you back to square one. It may not seem easy, but it is absolutely necessary to keep your beliefs in check.
Use the tips in this post to help do just that. You’ll see how it plays a vital role in manifesting reachable goals.
EMBRACE DISCIPLINE AND MAKE A PLAN
Highly successful business owners will tell you that there are two things they had to come to terms with in order to reach their goals – being disciplined and having a plan. Discipline involves working consistently; and even deeper, developing healthy daily habits and being aware of distractions. Think about the current habits you have. Are they helping or hindering your goals?
Now think about your distraction meter. Are you overwhelmed by distractions or are you able to stay focused on what you need to do? The answers to those questions will tell you how your mindset needs to shift in order to reach your goals.
Lastly, it’s time to reach your dreams. This is where planning comes into play, but not just any type of planning. The kind of planning that helps shift your mindset to one that manifests reachable goals consists of:
Actionable steps.
Investment in acquiring any necessary skills.
Investment in acquiring any necessary knowledge.
Consistency.

The limiting belief systems we have often branch as far back as childhood. We adopt certain ways of looking at ourselves and we begin to believe it. These beliefs then show up in areas of life where we are producing results that we don’t want. The question then becomes – “How do I develop the mindset to a healed limiting belief system?” Let’s look at a simple four-step strategy that will help you do just that.
ACKNOWLEDGE YOUR LIMITING BELIEFS.
Acknowledging your limiting beliefs is the first step in healing your mind of unwanted thoughts and actions. The truth of the matter is, your limiting beliefs have shaped everything you do. They are the hidden culprit to missed opportunities and discouraged outcomes.
Take some time to acknowledge your limiting beliefs by writing them down. Think about the various areas in your life and follow the thoughts and actions around them. Consider taking it a step further by noting the strength of the belief and the emotions it brings out in you.
REALIZE THESE ARE BELIEFS, NOT TRUTHS.
Now that you’ve acknowledged your limiting beliefs, it is time to realize what they really are – simply beliefs. Of course when you believe something for so long, it then becomes true. This rewiring process will take some time; however, it is a very much needed step in the healing process.
This is when you get to make the ultimate choice of continuing to let the beliefs about your limitations dictate your actions, or do what you need to do to reach your desired goals. Grab your list of limiting beliefs and prepare to turn them into real truths with the next step.
For each limiting belief on your paper, cross it out and replace it with a truth. This may take a little imagination, but start by thinking of things that align with what you want. The key is to not ignore what you have gone through in the past, but to now use that as fuel to where you want to go in the future.
Here’s an example of turning a belief into a real truth:
Limiting belief/Lie: “I don’t have enough experience to price my service at $500 per client.”
New belief/Truth: “The experience I have gained so far has given me the ability to charge $500 per client.”
These new beliefs are what you’ll soon put into action with the next and final step.
PUT YOUR NEW BELIEFS IN ACTION.
The saying is “actions speak louder than words,” and that is certainly the case when healing your limiting belief system. You’ve acknowledged what they are, realized the truth about them, and turned them into truths (on paper). Now it’s time to put your new beliefs in action.
This may feel like the scary part, but you can do it! It is time to step into your new belief system and start making decisions based on it. If you hesitate on walking in your new belief system, it will only be a matter of time before the old beliefs creep back in.
Keep in mind that this process does not have to be perfect. It’s also something that can be done time and time again, as needed. I can’t say that the limiting beliefs will ever stop, but what can stop is them overtaking your mind and actions. Use this four-step strategy anytime you notice limiting beliefs coming up. And remember to always walk it out.

Developing the Mindset to Manifest Residual Income Doing What You Love
This post may contain affiliate links. For full affiliate disclosure click here.
What comes to mind when you are asked about making a residual income doing what you love? Is your answer somewhere between, “I’m not able to fully do what I love” and “I haven’t figured out how to make it work yet”? No worries, you are not alone. A 2017 Bankrate study showed that 44 million Americans have a side hustle, while The Hustle found that the average side-hustler spends only 11 hours per week on their secondary work (bringing in a rough estimate of just $200 per week).
You may be wondering what these statistics have to do with developing the mindset to manifest residual income doing what you love, let alone with you. There are certain mindset shifts that need to occur in order for you to truly see a residual income from something that may just be your side hustle – for now. In this post, we’re going to address those things so you can unlock your potential to make doing what you love the only thing you’ll ever have to do.
What Exactly is Residual Income?
Simply put, residual income is when you continue to get paid after the work is done. Its polar opposite, and what many people find themselves doing, is active income. Active income comes as a direct result of our efforts.
For active income, think teaching, coaching, or working a regular 9-5. Residual income, on the other hand, is usually derived from published books, courses, or some other one-time created resource that will continuously bring in sales.
Regardless if you’re the coaching type or want to create a resource that brings in sales long after you’ve created it, having the mindset to generate income from either takes work. Let’s look at two main ways to begin working on the necessary mindset shifts.
Be Aware of How You Work for Active or Residual Income
First and foremost, it’s important to understand how you’re working on these two things. Yes, there is some patience involved when wanting to make the full switch to residual income; however, there is a balance to actively working toward building residual income.
Jim Rohn said, “I’m working full-time on my job and part time on my fortune. But it won’t be long before I’m working full-time on my fortune. Can you imagine what my life will look like?”
Once you understand how you’re working on the two types of income, then it’s time to see your path of transition. Let’s say you are a life or business coach and you really enjoy working one-on-one with clients. However, you would like to eventually cut back to only having a few high-ticket clients with the majority of your income coming from courses you’ve created.
The plan of execution would be derived from that goal and the action steps would eventually take you there. Purpose in your mind that your plans are going to make it happen, and then begin actively working on it.
Develop Success Habits
A common misconception is that residual income will happen overnight or without much effort. Sorry to be a myth buster, but the truth is that it takes work – hard work. This hard work does eventually pay off, especially if you purpose your mind and heart to stick with it. So, what do the habits of successful people look like?
For starters, successful people work on their personal development. There are always barriers and limiting beliefs that try to poke at even the richest person. Investing in personal development keeps your mind clear and focused on your desires and goals. This can take the form of reading books, hiring a coach, or joining a mentor group.
Another success habit is to develop daily goals. I will go into more detail about the importance of developing the mindset to manifest reachable goals, but for now, just know that setting daily goals is a way to reach those big ones. It serves as a daily reminder of what you’re working for and toward.
Last but not least, another success habit is to keep your passion the forefront of your profession. If you always treat your passion like a hobby, it will stay a hobby. Once you make your passion at the head of all you do, your decisions and actions will begin lining up with that.
Developing the Mindset to Manifest Residual Income Doing What You Love
The underlying factor with this mindset shift is putting in the necessary work to ensure you’re (1) understanding what residual income looks like for you, and (2) always working toward your residual income goals. It is possible, and you can do it!

The Mindset to Manifest the Business of Your Dreams
This post may contain affiliate links. For full affiliate disclosure click here.
Before you assume that we are going to be talking about the New-Agey way of manifesting the business of your dreams, keep reading. While I believe in the power of manifestation, it is from a Christian perspective. This means I believe what God says about our ability to manage our thoughts and actions, which in return affect the outcomes we see in our lives.
Manifesting the business of your dreams is no different, so we will discuss three important ways to develop your mind to prepare to receive and walk in your blessed business. This post is part of my “Mindset to Manifest” series, so be sure to stick around for more!
Manifesting Explained
I believe it is important to lay the foundation of the kind of manifesting I will be speaking of here, and in future posts in this series. Opposite of the popular “Law of Attraction” is the “Law of God”, which says many things about our ability as believers to receive what He has for us.
Without getting into too much detail, some of those things are:
The ability to do all things through Christ who gives us strength (Philippians 3:14).
The ability to seek and ask for things that glorify the Father (James 4:2)
The ability to have our plans established through commitment to God (Proverbs 16:3)
These few attributes alone are building blocks to walking out your God-given purpose in this life, especially for having the business of your dreams. The following three ways are how you can begin the process of actually seeing the business of your dreams unfold.
Acknowledge Your Ability Do It
One quick Google search on “how to start the business of your dreams” will return an over-abundance of results. Majority of the results will tell you about creating a business plan, when to make it legal, how to market, and so on. The one thing you won’t find much of is developing your mental plan.
Developing your mental plan often comes much later, after many weeks and months of tried and failed attempts to establish your business and actually grow it. But what if you could get a handle on this early on in your journey of having the business of your dreams? That’s where acknowledging your ability to do it comes in.
Revisiting Philippians 3:14, Scripture tells us that we have the ability to do all things through Christ who gives us strength. This includes creating your dream business. Start with acknowledging the simple truth that you can do it. Tell yourself this as often as you need to. You can also write it down and repeat the Scripture (and any other you find) anytime you need a reminder.
Acknowledge Your Ability Ask For What You Need
In the excitement of wanting to start a business, most people make the small mistake of forgetting to ask for what they need. Sure, you can join all the Facebook groups and start following all the people in your niche; however, it’s important to remember to ask the Source from which all things come from.
You have that ability, and even more so… you have that right. The Father wants us to ask Him to provide our needs – yes even in business. Think about how many times a child will ask their parents for something. They’ll ask over and over until the parent caves in. This same concept can (and should) be applied to asking for what we need.
This helps train your mind to not only be okay with asking, but also with the next step.
But remember, God doesn’t have to (nor will he ever) cave in to us because we just want to be in alignment with his original plan to prosper us so long ago. We’re not seeking what wasn’t promised or in His plans for us to begin with.
Acknowledge Your Ability See it Come to Pass
This right here. Ask yourself, “What would I do if my dream business actually came to pass?” How does asking yourself that question make you feel? Nervous? Hesitant? Maybe even a little resistant? Truth is, it shouldn’t make you feel any of those things – at least not to the point of hindering you.
Creating the mindset to accept the goodness of the plans the Father has in store for you and your business takes work. However, it starts with acknowledging the ability to see it actually unfold. This is another promise of manifestation found throughout Scripture. The Father wants what is good and profitable for you. This means giving you the desires of your heart too!
Regardless of where you find yourself in the dream business world, keep in mind that you have the ability to manifest the business of your dreams. Remember that you have the ability to do it, ask for it, and see it comes to pass.
I want to hear from you! What is the business of your dreams? What do you feel has been holding you back from taking that leap of faith and pursuing it? Let me know in the comments below!
