5 things the church hasn’t taught you about energy psychology

5 things the church hasn’t taught you about energy psychology

5 things the church hasn’t taught you about energy psychology

Introduction

I remember when I decided to go to college and my church found out I was going to be studying psychology. Immediately I was bombarded with “Be careful, your faith can be weakened in that environment!”. People totally overlooked the fact that I was studying these principles and theories at institutions like a Free Will Baptist college and Liberty University. Surprisingly enough after 10 plus years of studying the field of psychology, counseling, energy psychology, EFT, Splankna Therapy, my faith in Jesus Christ had only increased. I totally get how we are partners with Christ, a relationship with Him comes first and foremost, and then we can walk in our truest purpose to uplift the Kingdom with our creative abilities, gifts and talents. The church failed to teach us some things when it comes to the subconscious mind, energy psychology, and healing and success. I want to shed some light on what I’ve learned and how it applies to energy psychology principles like EFT and Splankna Therapy.

The church didn’t teach us:

    1. How to be a redemptive thinker;
    2. That everything belongs to God first;
    3. That “Evil merely pilfers something God created to be powerful and effective and uses it for rebellious purposes”, Thiessen & Hughes 2015;
    4. That Evil is dependent on God (this is deep you gotta read the Upper Dogs). The subconscious mind is really about Memory, it’s not mystical or the place of all wisdom. It is the faithful repository, a place where our personal things are deposited and stored. Our memory works below the conscious level, meaning the subconscious.
5 things the church hasn’t taught you about energy psychology

Bible Basis for the Subconscious Mind

There are so many scriptures that refer to the subconscious mind. I found these from the kingshighway articles. Check out these scriptures for biblical basis of the subconscious mind: Psalm 19:12-13 Psalms 139:23-24 2 Corinthians 10:3-6 Psalm 19:12 Hebrews 12:15 Jeremiah 17:9

Hidden Chambers reference to the Subconscious Mind

Proverbs 20:27 Proverbs 18:8, “The words of a talebearer are as wounds, and they go down into the innermost parts(cheder) of the belly.” (If there is no “secret place” or “hidden chambers,” where is this “innermost part”? This is also quoted in Proverbs 26:22). You can read up more on the subconscious mind from a christian perspective in the bottom portion of the article I linked above. If you’re like me, you love to do your research and see how God is at work in everything you put your hands to.

Why

Why didn’t the church teach us about the innermost parts or the hidden chambers? God has given us ways to access the subconscious mind. We have people that access the subconscious mind for their own personal gain and wickedness in rebellion to God. When we choose to access God as partner submitting to his will and the areas that he wants to reveal, we are walking in obedience to Him.

I’ll do it after I reach Best Seller

I’ll do it after I reach Best Seller

I’ll do it after I reach Best Seller

“You were put on this earth to achieve your greatest self, to live out your purpose, and to do it, courageously.” ― Steve Maraboli, Life, the Truth, and Being Free

Introduction

An amazing opportunity was presented before me. God placed a beautiful woman in my life to share with me that she had the ear of some decision-making people. She was so excited to share some info with them about me and I could have an opportunity to speak at an event. I’ve spoken at about 2 or 3 events 1 physically and 2 virtually. So this opportunity would have been amazing.

Our Feelings and Thoughts Get in the Way

It’s crazy how we have those feeling of anxiety pop up instantly when we imagine stepping out of our comfort zone. I started feeling queasy instantly. I pondered, I also felt a bit of excitement. I started to think about what I would share with God’s beautiful jewels of women. Before the conversation was over I backed down and told her, “You know what, you can wait to tell them about me after I hit Best Seller.” I’ll do it after I reach Best Seller

Why did I care about Best Seller?

I thought I needed:
  • a status
  • some clout
  • some structure
  • something to pitch at the end
This woman cared nothing about my status. She knew my heart, my character, my values and beliefs and she thought I was enough just as I am. I’m sharing this because I believe the same about you. You are enough, your purpose in this life is so rooted in your heart, character, values and beliefs! I remember when a lady asked me did I know what my values were for my life and I was stunned at the hesitation. I couldn’t spit them out?? And I’m not talking about the surface God first, family second, business third. I’m talking about things like:
  • transparency
  • authenticity
  • freedom
  • flexibility
  • expression
  • spirituality
  • creativity
  • love
  • faith
  • commitment
You are enough

I hit Best Seller, Now What?

Surprisingly, Just two days ago I hit not only Best-Seller but International #1 Best seller, in 4 countries!!! Pauses for Celebration!!!! Yes I’m totally stoked but the crazy thing is I don’t feel anymore relieved or prepared to take on this speaking opportunity. I still don’t feel like now is the time. Nothing miraculously changed to make me ready. I don’t feel any different as a person, as a woman, as a coach. I’m still who I am. I wonder to myself what was holding me back from saying YES, why did I tell myself no. SO here’s the thing,  every excuse that you make to why you can’t xyz… and here’s the list. You cant:
  • reach out to a client
  • go to a networking event
  • start a new project
  • engage in your creative calling
  • share your story
  • be consistent with showing up
…is you telling yourself no. It’s so important to do the inner work around these instances when you have told yourself no. I teach my clients how to say yes to themselves now and not only say yes but dig deep on the reasons why they are saying no. I was such a pro at telling myself no and despite this event, I’ve generally gotten a whole lot better about it. But at each new level that you upgrade to, there is a new lesson to work through and learn from so you can continue to grow beyond where you can imagine. I’ve totally learned from that lesson and I’m saying Yes today, not only to this speaking opportunity but to collaborations and so much more!!

Are you ready to say yes to yourself and your Purposeful business? Book a Discovery session with me here!

Why do we tell ourselves no?

Have you ever thought of the reasons why you say no to yourself? Here’s some reasons why:
  • You get nervous
  • You start feeling sick
  • You’re too cautious
  • You figure you don’t know enough
  • You’ve got to be perfect first
  • You may talk, teach, and coach around non-conventional subjects
  • You think people may not be interested
  • they might judge you
  • It would feel awkward standing in front of such a large group of people
  • what if you ramble
  • how would you stay organized
  • You think, “Oh not me… I’m not good enough for this opportunity, who am I to stand before these women”.

Conclusion

I’m sure if not all ….most of these thoughts and emotions popped up for me too. Each one of your thoughts and emotions are attached to other memories and experiences as well. That’s why it’s so important to address your feelings and peel the onion back on your emotions. As we work through aspects of fear, doubt, and insecurities related to a particular event we begin to tear down the destructive intensity of other thoughts and emotions that affect all areas of our lives. I’m working on this new level and I’m so ready to see where God is taking me and you next! I want to see you flourishing in your calling in your purpose, taking action and taking risks on you! Don’t allow status, accolades, certificates, and acknowledgments to stop you from standing up and speaking your truth!

4 Reflective Ways to Ride the Energy

4 Reflective Ways to Ride the Energy

Introduction

What does that mean. Ride the Energy. I dont know what other people call it but this is what God told me to do. He said, “Ride the energy Justina. Don’t stay stuck in the lows…go on the ride of energetic gratitude.”

Sometimes we get into a funk and we forget all the wonderful great and beautiful things that we’ve done and we’re looking at the current sucky situation and we are seeing what it looks like right now. I remember looking at a situation in the now. I remember, when I was crying on my bed, yes we all have low points (even Oprah)

My Funk

I was on my bed I was crying I felt like a loosere and I was like this sucks do I even want to do this anymore?  The “this” was my business. This was this year in March sometime I was just so upset…it’s crazy how we experience the lows. My low point was in March of this year.

I was so upset and I was in a funk despite the positive things going on around me. My inner circle group coaching program was full, I had a private client and I was booking days on set. But, Money wasnt looking they way I wanted it too. I had certain numbers in my mind and those numbers weren’t looking close to the goal I had set for myself that month.

I wasn’t riding the energy. I wasn’tt focused on the

  1. beautiful things that my clients were working on
  2. the the beautiful things I’ve done in the past
  3. the results I had helped other people get.

I was just focused on that one moment in time and in that one moment my numbers weren’t looking they way I wanted them too. I was like wait a second now I know I have goals and my numbers havent been increasing, why havent they? And I was upset. I was so in my little ego!

Ride the energy blog cover

My Process

Then I had to pray and I had a talk with God. I was llike “God…you know what forgive me because you’ve given me this business and you see fit on what I make and what I bring in. You always provide even in the ways least expected. I’m going to be thankful for that”. And when I decided to reframe my mind…and dont get me wrong..I’m writing about this and it will take you all of 8 mins to read this but it literally took me like 24 hours to get over my ego.

After I went through that whole process of saying “Get over yourself Justina, your numbers dont have to look the way you want them to right this minute. There’s still growth, there’s still other things that you are going to be doing this month to help balance out the numbers”, I had a moment to breathe, let go and receive what God had for me.

Receiving

I went back and looked back over my numbers a few days later. And mind you, I have two separate payment systems and a separate money tracking system, moonclerk, paypal and Dubsado. And guess what guys? I had forgot to look in paypal people. I had forgot about some things that came through that way.

By the natural eye what I saw was that I hadnt reached my goal…rather I saw that I was far off from my goal. But in another space that I couldnt see that I chose not to look at the money was there. And I’m just like wow. When we make a choice to look at where we are and be focused where we’re at we are not riding the energy. We’re not flowing with our natural born energy.

What you find yourself in a Funk

So I say this, when you find yourself in that negative energy and you are on a downward spiral…

  1. ride the energy
  2. Remember the past energy
  3. Meditate on past successes
  4. Purposefully shift your focus to past wins

Do these 4 things so you can build up our own energy. I invite you today to build up your energy, find that energy, find those highs, find those wins. Stay there and remind yourself that you’ve done amazing things.

My Energetic Wins

I literally have published work in international magazines, what the heck was I crying about… I’ve worked with amazing coaching clients, filled my group coaching program, worked with wonderful brands like Target, Bravo, Reality TV Stars, which some say I can technically call myself a celebrity make up-artist…why am I sitting on the bed crying…really?? I needed a spanking!

How I ride the energy

And if you find yourself in a moment where you are frustrated with not being able to book discovery sessions, or I cant get women on the phone, or “this” just isnt working…. ride your past energy!

  1. Focus on what you have done,
  2. start sharing that with people,
  3. start putting that out there,
  4. start journaling about it and I promise you some other wonderul epiphanies will pop up and you will have something to share with your audience.

Conclusion

SO yes ride the energy… go to where can you find the past energetic highs that you can begin to share with your audience where you were on top of the world and begin to meditate on that things Literally:

Sit in the moment

Feel the goosebumps

Feel it rise in your chest
I get a jittery rise in my chest when I know I’ve come across a win or I’m doing something that I love or that I’ve helped someone else…there’s just this energy that I get and even my kids recognize it…There like “Mommy you did good on your coaching call didn’t you?” And it’s not even that I did good but I was present and why are they asking that? Because they feel the energy. You have to harness that same energy that happens for you. Don’t loose it, Dont forget it!

I’ll Never Be a Real Business Owner

I’ll Never Be a Real Business Owner

Introduction

I hear women use this phrase “I’ll never be a real business owner”. They secretly tell me their greatest fear of never being a real business owner.

You know what I say, “You’re right you will never BE a business….you’re more than that. And you’ll never be an Owner…technically you dont own anything. It all belonged to God first.”

This thing called BEING is so much bigger than we like to ponder on, Who you are is bigger than the titles that others want to put on you and bigger than the titles even you feel you need to hold or carry in order to BE someone or somebody.

Your existence is greater than the stale walls and barriers of a traditional “business”.

Maybe what you really want is to carry yourself in a professional manner and have your soul clients invest in your services.

I mean in all honesty being in business means you are engaging in these activities below

You  take the time to be clear about your offerings

You are a decision maker

You are taking nothing and turning it into something

You have a heart to serve your soul clients

You serve them authentically and genuinely

You take the time to research what your clients want and need (these two are pretty different)

You are learning the way your clients speak so you can stand out in a crowd of sameness

You are being strategic about the solutions you provide to your clients

Youare staying connected and visible with your clients through transformational content that truly solves problem

Sometime we struggle with the cliche titles and labels let’s digger deeper on these things and really evaluate if we are being who we truly want to be.

Qualities of a business owner:

Are you being:

A go-getter

Decision Maker

Driven

Goal-oriented

Passionate

Self-Reliant

Humble resilient

Confident

Budget-minded

Focused

Open-minded

Conclusion

You see this title of business owner is much broader than we think. . It’s about possessing the qualities of a business owner first then bringing in the profit.

A lot of times I see women who want the profits but they don’t want to show up for themselves. They aren’t driven, they aren’t confident, yet they want the title of business owner, entreprenuer whatever you want to call it.

Work on being the woman who serves others, shows up for herself, and keeps her word before you can be a successful “business owner”. This is the essence of becoming the woman you want be. You do this by embodying her, acting in the now, the way she would if she had all the money, possessions, and things that you desire
You can do it, it first takes working on yourself, your mindset, and outlook of whose business you are operating!

The Importance of Delighting Ourselves in Christ: For the Entrepreneurial Woman

The Importance of Delighting Ourselves in Christ: For the Entrepreneurial Woman

Delighting ourselves in Christ may not seem easy, but it can be. Keep reading to find out why it’s important and how to adopt this mindset as a Christian entrepreneurial woman.

Psalm 37:4-5 KJV that says, Delight thyself also in the Lord: and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart. Commit thy way unto the Lord; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass.

I remember a time in my life when I was struggling, I was lost and I wondered, “God what is my purpose. But I remember the scripture above. That scripture told me to delight myself in God and that he would give me the desires of my heart. At that time, my one desire was to know my purpose in the midst of being wife and mom.

When I thought about the word delight I really began to wonder how does this show up in my life?I’m a real world practical applications kind of girl. It’s ironic that I lead with mindset and spirituality in my business. But I think it’s like that only because I used to lead so heavily with that left side of my brain and I didn’t get very far that way.

delight and desires masterclass

The Importance of Delighting Ourselves in Christ: For the Entrepreneurial Woman

So what does delight look like practically?

I”m a words kinda girl and I love looking up a good definition and really breaking down the meaning.

Delight: please greatly, charm, enchant, captivate, entrance, thrill; gladden, gratify, appeal to; entertain, amuse, divert; tickle pink, bowl over“her manners delighted him”

It means to find peace and fulfillment in the lord.

This gets me to thinking…What about when you walk around feeling upset because you didn’t close the next sale, or when you post and no one looks at it?

Are we really delighting ourselves with peace and fulfillment in Him?

I know for a fact that God will give you the desires of your heart, which I know is a thriving profiting business where you can travel and have flexibility in your life.

You want to make an impact and leave a legacy for those you care about.

However, God cares more about your peace and fulfillment in Him over any desire of the heart.

This is one of the key steps to manifesting a life and business that you love. Receiving the desires of your heart is the essence of manifestation. God plants the desires and he brings them about when our hearts are right in Him.

Delighting ourselves in christ, cont.

When I hit brick walls, and I take time to reflect I usually find that:

  1. My gratitude meter is way off
  2. I’m being ungrateful for what I already have
  3. I’m looking at things from a natural mind
  4. My expectations are off

God has given us a foundational step to manifestation that gets overlooked all the time.

Here are some practical ways that I have delighted myself in the Lord in the past:

1.Joined the worship team at my church: and this wasn’t to do it just because it was the action to do. But I know God has given me the gift of voice and to use that gift unto him brings me peace and fulfillment unto me. It’s not about being seen, being in the group, but about using a gift and talent for his glory. Which is also being done in my home.

2. I’ve volunteered as a homeschool consultant: This was a field where I was giving back to my local community. There are no words to explain how much gratitude families show when you help them to learn how to educate their own children. My leadership skills and creativity skills in organization and planning are put the use here. I love when we honor God through education. It’s beautiful.

3. I’ve joined my praise dance team: Free dance and movement connects us to the spirit and freedom in God. You may think these activities are counter-intuitive to what you really want in life and that they take away from what you should be really doing. But God sees the heart and he looking to see where we are willing to keep him first above all things.

Final Thoughts about delighting ourselves in christ

I’m not suggesting you join a dance team, choir, or volunteer as a homeschool consultant. I am however saying to pay attention to your natural gifting and delight yourself in Christ with them. Pick something as simple as song and worship every morning for 15 mins before you leave the house. Honoring that this is YOUR time with God and dont allow people to interrupt.

If you enjoyed this article I know you would enjoy my new Delight & Desires Masterclass. You’ll learn how to connect with your calling to thrive in the marketplace.

What Does Emotional Freedom Technique Have to do with My Entrepreneurial Call?

What Does Emotional Freedom Technique Have to do with My Entrepreneurial Call?

Janet Crawford put it this way:…emotions are elegant shortcuts that allow us to sort through reams of [subconscious] neural patterns and generate feelings that guide us toward or away from a course of action. Without emotion, we are biologically incapable of making decisions. Logic is often the last step in the process.

Why do we care about emotions in the first place? The emotions we experience literally guide us toward or away from our desired course of action. We need to discover how those emotions are playing a role in our desired happiness and success. As you’re navigating what will make you happy and what will make you feel fulfilled you are dealing with a myriad of emotions; some under the surface and some that are front and center. Not only can we discover how emotions are playing a role in our desired outcomes but we can literally heal the emotion that is steering us away from our desired result. Wouldn’t that be amazing? Getting to the root of the emotions that are truly holding you back from manifesting your desired life and business.

Thoughts, beliefs, emotion and intention. The beliefs we hold, which are wordless energetic states of being, attract thoughts and emotions to match. When you are experience disempowering thoughts and emotions, they lead to disempowering lies and vows that you begin to will into existence through your intentions. The opposite happens for us also, when we experience positive thoughts and emotions we create empowering truths and action that we will to existent with our intention.

What are the true thoughts that have been spinning around in your head lately?

  • Can I really do this?
  • Am I really cut out for this?
  • I have to many ideas and none of them have really worked yet?
  • I don’t know how to be a successful business woman
  • I’m afraid to really be seen
  • I can’y trust the truth of how amazing I really am
  • I still question if I’m good enough

What are your true intentions as a professional entrepreneurial woman looking to embark on your journey of creating and bringing forth your purpose in the marketplace? What is the outcome that you are really looking for? If it is that you desire to be serving in a way that truly lights you up and you desire to create impact and lead with purpose then thoughts like the ones above do not serve you. But it’s not your fault. Women lead lives with baggage from their past that stir up emotions that they so desperate want to break free from but until you get to the root of the emotion you stay stuck, spinning your wheels and wondering what is wrong with you

emotional freedom

While painting this picture of connection I hope it’s getting clearer to you why your emotions are so important as a women of faith with the call to entrepreneurship. There may be negative thoughts or beliefs that you have about yourself and other successful people in business. Despite your desire to be impactful with your own business, these negative thoughts and beliefs can lead to disempowering lies and vows that you are intentionally displaying in your life. The issue is that sometimes we are totally unaware, totally oblivious to the affects of our subconscious beliefs. I suggest you check the fruit.

  • Are your service booked out?
  • Are you reaching your financial goals?
  • Are you excited to wake up and serve in your given field?
  • Do you see where your next clients are coming from?
  • Are you soulfully aligned to the work you’re doing?
  • Do you have a well-oiled team?
  • Are you reaching your desired goals?
  • Are you committed to the process of growth?
  • Are you displaying the discipline and confidence necessary to be a successful business woman?

If your answer is no to any of these…checking your thoughts and emotions is vital. Embracing a process of emotional healing is also vital.

Managing our emotions is the foundation to personal achievement, happiness, and professional success. If you are a solo entrepreneur you know the lines between personal and professional can be blurred. It is our personal desire to be a professional success. See what I mean?? I want you to consider the idea that you can not only manage but actually heal the conscious and subconscious emotions that are running the the limiting beliefs, lies, and vows that you’ve agreed to as coping mechanisms.

You may be asking how I know this. Surely I do because I remember the struggle of going back and forth on what I wanted, I remember having the opportunities right in my face but being too afraid to seize them. I remember having the resources at my fingertips but my thoughts and emotions truly holding me captive. My thoughts of not being good enough, my thoughts of not being capable all created an emotional vibration that kept me paralyzed and kept me stuck.

Have you ever wondered why you desire to do better but you end up replaying the same old habits? Well that’s because there is emotional healing to be done in that area. There are lies and vows at play in your life that stem from events and traumas from your Youth. This is where the Emotional Freedom Technique comes into place. There is a negative story that is written on your wall and it’s time for that to change. I’m talking energy psychology protocols that God has gifted us with that are based in circuitry and intention. It’s a such a wonderful blessing to be in a co-operative framework alongside God our creator.

For your purpose, for your success, tap into the subconscious mind and break free from your disempowering thoughts and belief.

One of the first steps to manifesting a life and business that you truly desire is having a heart for God and Mind for Business. We must first have our thoughts in alignment with what God thinks about us before we can manifest anything. Interested in experiencing Heart and Soul as your new Strategy?
