As a make-up artist I’ve always enjoyed the art of telling a story and being a part of the creative process. Make-Up is the one component in filmmaking that is most effective when it is subtle; creating the illusion of reality. With high definition and digital production the knowledge and use of the correct tools and materials can create realistic SFX which can make the difference in a project’s professional appearance and story believability. Make-Up gives visualization to the director’s image of the character in the moments of the story and the actor’s interpretation/reflection of that character in those moments. Together we create the image we want the audience to see.
