Are you committing spiritual suicide?
Are you committing spiritual suicide? Do you talk down to yourself and tell yourself that you can’t do “it”? Are you filling your head with negative ideas about yourself and your efforts? Are you constantly telling others about your “downfalls” and looking for others to feel sorry for you? If you find yourself doing this then you can consider it spiritual suicide. “Suicide is the process of purposely ending one’s own life” Dryden-Edwards 1996-2011). The word that sticks out to me is purposely. When you tell yourself you’re not good enough would you believe that you are doing that with purpose? You are choosing death in a sense. You are essentially destroying your spirit.
If we think to ourselves that we have a choice in the matter of how we address our God-given spirit then maybe we will purposely look into our word and discover what God thinks of us. We are charged to read our word and discover not only God’s thoughts of us but His promises for our lives. If we became aware of these things then maybe we could purposefully speak blessings on our lives no matter how we feel or no matter what the situation looks like. Speaking life into your situation can be accomplished when we tune into God’s word. Why do we choose to kill our spirits by choosing to speak negatively and putting ourselves down? God’s says that we, his children are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, and a holy nation (1Peter 2:9). We are true daughters of the Most High ladies. He says he’ll never leave us or forsake us (Heb 13:5). We have to wake up and encourage ourselves. There’s a song that I love here’s the link:
So ladies stop committing spiritual suicide, stop killing your spirit and encourage yourself through God’s word.
